I've listened to this a lot since it first dropped. I have been conflicted on this song. It is the first single he's dropped in a long time so the initial allure is still hindering an honest rating. However, I think this song is a 6/10. The emotion and honesty is there which is great. We learn something new about him and it is very vulnerable. I love that. The flaws I have with this are that it is a first single, the flow, and the lack of drums. I do not like his voice like this. It doesn't sound good not layered anymore. Maybe it does if he used a different tone or effect but not this way. The flow is fine except for the random parts where he screams. I can't stand how he increases the intensity so much then gets calm so quick. f---ing kills the tempo of the song for me. The lack of drums doesn't bother me that much but with the tone of voice he uses it doesn't mesh very well. If I wasn't a Stan then I think I would rate this song lower than a 6.

The song is not what I expected BUT it has grown on me considerably...

A few points:

- Everyone would say that Em is 40+ and needs to mature in his sound, well he just did that.
- Everyone would say he actually needs to write introspective content, well he just did that.
- Everyone hates Rihanna and Skylar, well he didn't use them.

I agree that drums would've been better but to be fair the song is very relatable to lots of people in this world.

I think it's unfair to look at purchase numbers because for example, I will only buy the album and not one song.

Overall, it's impressive however it does kind of jarr with the whole Revival concept of the past few weeks.
