Sep 28, 2020 I knew I was forgetting some songs from that Summer. That's where subjectivity plays a big role in what we're talking about because I don't think the songs you mentioned here or the ones I did from the Summer of 2009 sound anything like Relapse. When I think of Relapse I'm talking thick Arabic accent and stupid serial killer tales. That s--- was out the window when Relapse dropped and was recieved extremely negatively at the time.
Sep 28, 2020 That's the s--- I want the most. Don't judge me lol. Not necessarily as thick as an accent as on Bagpipes from Baghdad though lol. More like Stay Wide Awake, Buffalo Bill, Same Song & Dance kind of songs as well as unreleased Hello type of songs (if any exist). But yeah that plus transition era so late 2009.
Sep 28, 2020 @M Solo Also I forgot to ask: are you sure Cocaine was recorded in the summer of that year? Always thought it was recored in Fall 2009.
Sep 28, 2020 I wonder if 2 verses on the Microphone freestyle he did on Westwood were from a song. That thing is insane.
Sep 28, 2020 The production sounds Relapse-esque, compared to the over-produced noisy Recovery production that made Em scream over it to be heard lol
Sep 29, 2020 Refill is like 6 new tracks. That's about 9-10 short of an Em album. 50 said it exists and is on a hard drive somewhere. Also that it's 'exciting'.
Sep 29, 2020 well we know that the album starts off with insult 2 injury that was confirmed by alchemist a few years ago as a continuation of underground
Sep 29, 2020 And as many have speculated... I think that freestyle he did on the Westwood show after Relapse 1 was 'Insult to Injury' - the verse where he's like 'I wasn't born mean, I was pushed to treachery' aka the f---ing amazing verse and another indication R2 was about to be a new pinnacle. Such a waste.
Sep 29, 2020 As much as a lot of you hate relapse, its still the most interesting era since his comeback. Someday, all of relpase haters gonna accept, that this album is his 4th classic
Sep 29, 2020 Imagne having a new Em album next month by this time. This album could be a total flop or the best he did after comeback. I think this will top Kamikaze and MTBMB but Relapse will stay undefeated Feelings? @Rick James @Guma
Sep 29, 2020 MTBMB = Kamikaze > MMLP2 > Recovery > Relapse > Revival That's how I would rank albums after his hiatus. I'm not a Relapse fan, but I can see why people love this album so much. I appreciate songs like Stay Wide Awake, Deja Vu or Underground, but it wasn't my vibe. It was cool back when it dropped, but it aged poorly for me. I like MMLP2 tho, it's very underrated. I like how lyrical Em was on that album, he wrote his a--- off on this. Kamikaze and MTBMB are equal like I said it the other thread. Revival felt more like a mixtape, it was just mess. He tried to put do mamy different styles on one album, but you know how that ended. I think his new album will be at MTBMT level and I'm okay with that. His calm flow is a good hint that we may get something great. I hope there won't be too much political talking, but time will tell.
