Aug 15, 2025 Death of Slim Shady wasn’t the album that I wanted from Eminem, but I enjoyed it as a concept album. Revisited it last night — it’s aged well. However, what many of us long time Eminem fans want is the Eminem album equivalent of the display Malice has put on this year of mature, profound, thought-provoking, and introspective lyrics. Essentially a 2025 Eminem Show.

Aug 15, 2025 Not sure "profound" or "thought-provoking" are some of the first descriptors that come to mind for any of Eminem's music. Eminem Show was (in places) mature and introspective, but subtract the anger he had back then and you get Stepping Stone, Guts Over Fear, Last One Standing, Temporary, etc etc. That is to say not terrible music, but never nearly as interesting. He's better off making more Antichrists and Fuels and Renaissances imo.
Aug 15, 2025 Idk if I’d call TES mature or profound. A lot of the same topics can be found on Slim shady LP and MMLP. I just think TES is the best full spectrum of Eminem at his best overall.

Aug 15, 2025 Agree that those songs were emotional and introspective, but the bars in those songs just don’t hit in the same way as those in Malice’s verses have this year. Revisit Say Goodbye To Hollywood for what I’m referring to on TES. Post-hiatus, Deja Vu is another great example of what I’m referring to.
