Dec 12, 2014 i've yet to hear a coherent, fact-based argument that this is not his most well put together project since at least the 8 mile soundtrack
Dec 12, 2014 i recognize your avatar from the terrible trolling on sl the rhyming is better than encore, relapse, recovery and mmlp2. a lot of people think so
Dec 12, 2014 They're high quality tracks and I thoroughly enjoy them. They're all a step in the right direction after the disappointment of MMLP2.
Dec 12, 2014 Since 8 Mile I would say.. 1. Recovery 2. h---: The Sequel 3. Shady XV 4. The Re-Up 5. Encore 6. D12 World 7. MMLP2 8. Relapse
Dec 13, 2014 Bad Guy, Rhyme or Reason, Brainless, Love Game, Evil Twin, Baby, Ground Hog's day >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any song on Shady XV
Dec 13, 2014 royce, crooked, and the beat are the only good things about pyschopath killer. eminems double time flow ruined it for me. the 1st minute of vegas is bleh. I've enjoyed Guts Over Fear since it came out. He doesnt use the double paced flow on it. Fine Line starts off great then goes down hill but i do like how he shouts out the outsidaz and I LOVE the last minute where the beat plays. Twisted is good. I really like yela's verse and em does a good job singing. I dont like his flow on D vs E. and when i say its not even listenable i mean that it has very little replay value and will just collect dust on my shelf
Dec 13, 2014 not any song mmlp2 has a few highlights but lol @ love game > right for me lol @ baby > fine line try harder btw the steps are more complex rhyme schemes, layering several stories at once, following the beat in new and interesting ways, great voice acting; ditching one monotonous flow after the other for ones that match the tracks and his own beats, et cetera anyone with half a brain and a little musical sense could go on and on, some ppl here should read a couple interviews with people in the industry
Dec 14, 2014 True. But at the expense of "digestible" content. His rhymes barely have meaning. Thus, not a step in the right direction. That's an interesting way to describe his incoherent random topics in verses. Again, not a step in the right direction. Eminem has never been worse at "riding" a beat than he is now. Again.... Elaborate on this please. Again, while he switches up his flow regularly I wouldn't say they match the beat. More often than not, the beat is just there and it feels like he just copied an acapella verse on it.
Dec 14, 2014 btw the steps are more complex rhyme schemes True. But at the expense of "digestible" content. His rhymes barely have meaning. Thus, not a step in the right direction. It's of course true but he's not doing it at the expense of anything, especially content. The things he's discussing are very "digestible" to the specific people he's writing for. I'm not sure if you're under the impression he's still poor trying to make it or what but someone's mindset changes once they're set for life. You're not alone in thinking there was a significant dropoff in quality after the first few albums but and no offense you're an og here but nobody gives a s--- what direction you think marshall should go in. It also isn't necessary to imply that the music is meaningless to literally everyone, especially when he has such a strong following. layering several stories at once That's an interesting way to describe his incoherent random topics in verses. Again, not a step in the right direction. Who tells better stories, while at the same time rhyming more words and staying on beat better than em more consistently all while also bridging gaps between genres across multiple generations and races? following the beat in new and interesting ways Eminem has never been worse at "riding" a beat than he is now. Again.... No one who knows what they're talking about agrees with that. If you actually listened to the music, you would see that these are for the most part his own beats and all the songs on this album have a very exact way each syllable interacts with whatever the instrumental is doing in the background. great voice acting Elaborate on this please. I got an oscar attached to my f---in name, de la. But seriously, acting as in playing characters. He's very good at it. Better than most musicians. ditching one monotonous flow after the other for ones that match the tracks and his own beats Again, while he switches up his flow regularly I wouldn't say they match the beat. More often than not, the beat is just there and it feels like he just copied an acapella verse on it. You keep saying this over and over. Hs is more in sync with the beat then ever. Listen more. Maybe learn to play an instrument. some people here should read a couple interviews with people in the industry If you disagree with rod argent and rick rubin, would you please counter the points they make in the articles I've posted?
Dec 18, 2014 I don't know how anyone can consider themselves to be Eminem fans but not praise Baby endlessly. Fine Line is cool but it could of been A LOT better. Baby sounds like Em recorded parts of it in 2002 and just decided to use them now, it's that good. "Only bull you should take is by the horns, a mixture of Whitey Ford and mighty Thor, I Everlast, pen is mightier than sword, finish writing then record, replenish keep writing more, nothing's riding on it but your pride is all you're fighting for"
Dec 18, 2014 baby is a terrific track, I especially like the 'in a corner/you're a hornet' and 'scatterbrain/splattered paint' parts. plus em had rubin guiding the way. fine line is way more emotional and personal and that means a lot to me. plus many people enjoy the new delivery as baby was recorded two years ago and chances are he's probably not going to want to use that flow again anyway baby is again an excellent song but it's not even better than groundhog day let alone fine line, which contains some of the biggest revelations of em's career including coming to terms with overwhelming fame after growing up the way he did, and shouting out zee and pace love game isn't even a contender for the best of these particular few tracks but if em had done three serious verses instead of one it could have been
Dec 22, 2014 still can't make it past "worse artist" artists with the guts to share should be appreciated whether they s--- or not is secondary but they shouldn't be made to feel inadequate as a person or as an artist because someone doesn't feel the latest project there are plenty of celebrities who lie in their music and sell the listener a bill of goods hate them
