Feb 13, 2020 i have to agree, after listening to what he did on Revival and Music to be Murdered by, Encore falls waaaaaaaaaay short. But in the same breath, he was growing as an artist, i'm glad he evolved into the beautiful artist he is today
Feb 13, 2020 eminem classics to me is infinite slim shady ep slim shady lp marshall mathers lp eminem show and the first d12 devils night and the 8 mile soundtrack and straight out of the lab and anything else he did in those respective timelines. so basically anything he did from 1996-2003 is classic to me. from encore on i have not f----- with his music.
Feb 14, 2020 Encore is not as terrible as I once thought. Maybe my taste in music has changed over time. It sounds like an Em album, well produced with cohesive beats. I enjoy the highs. The lows are bad but i have grown to tolerate some. Would give it a 6.5,/10. Second or third worst album for me. In the past i wouldn't consider ranking it higher than a 3
Feb 15, 2020 Dude, Encore will forever be hist worst album because he was knee-deep in prescription pills that had dulled his entire sense of being...creating a zombie-like figure that looked like Eminem. The reality that Eminem could have died during the making or the release of this album makes it so much worse...this could have been the last time we would have heard from the greatest lyricist on the planet. f---ing "Puke". d---...
Feb 15, 2020 What the...? How can you even say this with a straight face? Are you so enamored by Eminem's persona in 2004 that you feel the need to hold Encore in such a high regard? Yeah, sure, it has "Yellow Brick Road" and "Never Enough", but is that enough to salvage the incompetence Eminem displayed on this album? Especially when you say MMLP2 and Kamikaze are worse? Dude, Kamikaze alone has better beat selection and writing, deliveries and flows, than Encore does. Sheesh.
Feb 17, 2020 Would rather listen to pre re-up for the rest of my life than post. When you grow up with Eminem as a teenager its shocking how boring his music is now. Its not always about technical ability its about how good a song sounds. His used to sound great now they sound horrible.
Feb 17, 2020 My problem with encore resides on songs like a--- like that, and big weenie. These two could have been erased from existence. I also hate that Spend Some Time isn't a solo em song. Puke and Rain Man grew on me after some years.
Feb 17, 2020 Sure, but to disregard how he's still killin' it now, and just to say "go back 2 drugs" is f----- up. Because we've seen what happens when he's on drugs...he delivers Encore. I think his music now is pretty entertaining, and I grew up in the era of 8 Mile, he does get pretty annoying on some tracks where he raps too fast or has Rihanna on a pop hook...but he also has some really cool songs I can vibe to, almost preferring those over some of his old s---.
Feb 18, 2020 I think replacing the songs leaked by Nates friend, with I'm assuming s--- like big Weenie, and a--- like that, hurt the album. If you replace Big Weenie, a--- like that, and My first Single with We As Americans, Love You More and Ricky Ticky Toc, the album is a much better whole. Rain man beat is incredible, content kind of ruins the track, and wasted the beat, but obviously Em was just having fun.
Feb 18, 2020 Relapse was definitely the biggest waste, Em did run the accent into the ground, and I don't think the serial killer theme would've gotten as redundant if the accent wasn't so irritating by the end. You just wanted to hear his raps and flow without it.
Feb 18, 2020 Encore came out when I was in school and it surely set me right. It reminded me that even if you get 100% on every assignment you turn in, but you only turn in half of the assignments, you still get a 50% in the class.
