No need for the Saudi’s to get their oil drenched hands into the Champions League then. Seems like a happy medium instead of wholesale integration. Could be a fun watch if teams take it seriously.

well there are 8 groups 4 teams each is from 15th of June until 13th of July so almost a month, it has the same format and number of games as the national team's world cup and has all the winners from past 4 years of the champions League from each continent and some teams that ranked best in the past 4 years on their continent. Is goona be a good competition.

But isn’t the normal League 1 competition already terrible? What’s the point in a team like Man City playing Burnley? Where’s the balance when the value of each club is vastly different? I don’t understand why everyone was up in arms about this Super League when football has been destroyed by capital since before we were all born…

Hopefully it gives clubs like Celtic & Rangers who have no competition in their leagues a chance to compete in a more balanced league setup & in turn attract more investors & improve the experience for both players & fans.

The European Court of Justice has ruled that FIFA and UEFA contravened EU law in blocking the formation of the European Super League in 2021, saying the governing bodies are "abusing a dominant position."
A case was brought against FIFA and UEFA by A22, the backers of the ESL, who claimed the governing bodies had broken competition law to block the prospective league.

The court has now delivered its verdict in favour of the claimant and against FIFA and UEFA.

To anyone asking why we are against this competition. It's mainly because there will be a lot of money up for grabs if you win a game or if you win the entire thing, basically the big teams will be forced to play in their own leagues with their 2nd squad in order to focus on the European Super League.

And since the games are mid week teams will be playing here instead of Uefa Champions League.

And you can even relegate from your own league you will still qualify for the ESL, you won't have to fight to win the Championship anymore or to finish in the top 4.

Champions League is one of the best competitions in football, besides the World cup and it is here since 1955 and they wanna ruin it now and let's not speak about every league in all the countries across Europe who are what football is all about since the beggining of this sport.

Personally, I swear on my life I would not watch a single minute of this f---ing s--- and I hope they do ban all the teams from their own leagues and from any european competition and let the real fans enjoy football without them.

It’ll be interesting to see how some of the big players for these clubs react to this. Imagine Messi was just like “I’m not playing in this, I’m playing for argentina.” Could also push the clubs away from this.

It eliminates competition. The 15 clubs will never face relegation, there’s no pyramid at all. It’s the same teams playing every single year pretty much. Boring.

I think the revamp idea of the CL is much better than ESL.

It’s a money grab from the owners of the clubs. They don’t care whatsoever as to what the fans say...

I don't get how this is different from Champions League/Europa League etc.... it's just a new player that wants their money

And to be honest, I don't care whether the owners of the Super League are getting s--- ton of money or if it's the UEFA

imo it's the UEFA fearing for their "monopoly" and threaten to exclude the clubs from domestic leagues and hoping that FIFA will exclude them from international games - which tbh won't happen

so at the end of the day, for me it's either money to the UEFA or money to some other already greedy rich f---s... that begs the question: what's the difference?

I don't care whether it happens or not - but if it actually does happen they need to rethink the structure, 15 standing teams won't cope well, need to do 10 standing 10 qualifying teams or whatever

maybe I am missing the bigger picture, if so please enlighten me bro!
