As we all know, Mos Def will release his final album this year, so... What are your expectations of it? What collaborations do you want to hear?

I'd like to hear Mos x Kendrick collab... and at least another one song with Talib Kweli, because I know we ain't gonna get another Blackstar's album :hovcry:

I feel like final albums are better when an artists decides afterward that it'll be their final piece of work. It's so hard and sets the bar so high when you announce its going to be your last. Hopefully it's good.

It's hard to say. After Black On Both Sides, Mos has disappointed when anticipation was high (The New Danger) and impressed when anticipation was low (The Ecstatic)

Hard to predict where he's at musically these days, having been over 6 years since his last album. He's been all over the map throughout his career, with two borderline classics in Black Star and Black on Both Sides, a disappointing but okay New Danger, a pretty bad True Magic album, and then a surprisingly good release with The Ecstatic. My expectations are low, but it'll be high on my list of anticipated albums this year.
