Aug 21, 2020 can agree w this but 3 was viewed as doing exactly that when it dropped, providing little wiggle room in the main quest to make an impact, and having moments like megaton basically be “do u want to be rly rly evil for no reason?” as the choice, which puts its player impact on the world in the same sandbox category as something like GTA 4, in the grand scheme of things, has the same amount of player variations and interaction with the world. The difference being there’s less time spent on well crafted dialogue getting u thru that, which is a shame, but if u rly sink ur teeth into the settlement building and combat loop you’ll find that pretty much every moment to moment gameplay loop breathes more life into the franchise than 3 did, at least imo
Aug 21, 2020 tldr between following ur dad in a a quest w frivolous player impact in a world u can impact decently vs following ur son in a quest w frivolous player impact in a world u can just straight up build yourself and then have more fun shooting things in it, I would choose the latter. If I had a gun to my head telling me not to replay NV

Aug 21, 2020 3 was the first one I played and it's been awhile—but I felt like I had actual choices in 3 and what I did mattered. 4 didn't feel like that at all. The building s--- didn't appeal to me either.
Sep 2, 2020 Forgot how the Tribals from Point Lookout are complete bullet sponges. s--- is getting mad annoying!
