Well, that's kinda disappointing... I read it takes place in 2010?

I was hoping for a 1920's or '40s era...oh well

but Patrick Wilson has been recast for S3 hasn't he?.. unless his younger character appears in flash backs

Ewan McGregor's the latest feature actor to topline an installment of FX’s Emmy-winning anthology series Fargo. McGregor will play the two central characters — brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy — in the upcoming third season, which is supposed to be set closer to present day than the first two installments.

Emmit Stussy is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, he sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, on the other hand, is more of a cautionary tale. Balding and pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, he has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames Emmit for his misfortunes.

McGregor is the first actor cast in the third installment of Fargo, which tentatively is scheduled to begin production later this year for premiere on FX in 2017.
