What has US foreign policy towards Cuba to do with the fact that Castro was a murderer? Can't you judge those two things separately? Everybody can infer from your post that Castro killed people because USA sabotaged Cuba for decades. It's a pure nonsense.

What i am saying is there was a huge propaganda against him, its no conspiracy theory, its a prettt simple tactic. I am just asking people why they judge him for things that they dont judge to other western politicians. Europe and US participated in countless massacres all around the world and nobody bats an eye. I am just asking to get informed from both sides. People i met there were supporting the Revolution of Castro but at the same time they didnt have a problem talking about the hard conditions. It isnt black or white thats it.

When was the last time when Obama, Merkel, Hollande or any other Western political leader killed their political opponents? You're out of mind if you think they're in the same league. You can juxtapose him with Khaddafi, Putin or Al-Assad and maybe in comparison to them he will turn out to be relatively good in terms of delivering people decent healthcare etc.. although I heard it was on a pretty good level but only for the elite... But ok, I'll give you that I can't verify this s--- because the statistics are most probably falsified to show Cuba in a good light and the other side probably do the opposite. I have no idea how people live in there, but his economic achievements are not a part of the problem I have with him. It's all about his dictatorship and a way of doing politics. Even if he made Cuba a superpower and the fastest growing country in the world I couldn't mourn him in a way as you all do because he MURDERED his own countrymen.

Well, thats the point. I dont know where you heard this about the murders you talk about. I am sure he wasnt a saint, nobody is sacred. But I have hard time to believe much of the things they kept saying about him and this supposed mass murders.

Because you stupid polish c---- when you have the f---ing imperialist leader of the world U.S.A and the f---ing C.I.A right above you trying to k--- you and sabotage your country for half a century you tend to install strict policies and become paranoid of political opponents, you have to be fierce

I'm not excusing his behaviour but he went into power with good intentions not "nice I'm gonna be mean to my people now just because"

CIA had eyes on him all the time because he was a bloody dictator, not vice versa. Please stop being so naive.

CIA got Allende killed in Chile. He was also a bloody dictator? Heard about Operation Condor? US kills off presidents who think differently to put people who will do what they are told. See Iraq and Libya also. It is not a conspiracy, it is extremely easy to tell with little research.

Kadaffi and Hussein were as just bad as Castro. However, the decision to deprive them of power is questionable even though we don't know how differently might things have turned out if they hadn't been dead.

Him being a bloody dictator is just one of the big factors...I didn't underline it clearly. You're right.

See @Eazy even though @Alchemist34 used some unnecessary insults towards me he provided factual points to the discussion. You're just rambling about US presidents having bigger 'bodycount' than Castro... Cmon.

@Radeem Castro has been painted as an irredeemable villain because he expropriated the land and wealth of Americans and the Cuban ruling class, and then went on to successfully defy American imperialism for decades. He is responsible for far fewer deaths than any of his US contemporaries

wrap your head around those factual points

This is an oversimplification and you know it lol. For one, you're pegging the president responsible for every death over seas as if he gives the order to every military action that takes place. Secondly, you're willfully ignoring the fact that Castro locked up political opponents, suppressed freedom, suppressed democracy, was extremely homophobic, had numerous human rights violations and destroyed cuba's national economy.

@Enigma [insert US president's name here] locked up political opponents, suppressed freedom, suppressed democracy, was extremely homophobic, had numerous human rights violations and destroyed Cuba's national economy.

the US has supported and continues to support worse regimes than the government of communist Cuba. If a small poor country decides to assert its independence the US government will have their leaders killed and replaced with friendly despots, or more recently not even go that far, just k--- the leader and leave the country to destroy itself (Libya and Iraq)

The old saying goes: two wrongs, don't make a right. I think that applies here. This isn't a pissing contest to see who's worse. The U.S. is no saint -- especially when it comes to foreign policy -- but that doesn't disregard the fact that Castro was a piece of s---. Oversimplying complex issues into generalities and vague comparisons doesn't get us any where.
