Well I wouldn't go that far, seeing as how Spring Breakers is one of the the best films ever made!!

I love the comparison. Both work largely because of how music works in conjunction with the image and their LA/Florida backdrops give a lot of similar vibes. Throw in the neon overload with a classic Cliffy score and it's really easy to see them on the same plane. I honestly enjoy Neon Demon more. :ohno:

Julieta eh? I'll be sure to check it out. Also didn't realize you dug Elle so much...I actually just watched it for a second time...such a perfect pairing of actress and director.

Since it's the time of lists, Slant Magazine posted their rather eclectic top 25 today. Surprised they were also on the Neon Demon bandwagon. http://www.slantmagazine.com/features/article/the-25-best-films-of-2016

hahaha The Shallows...real talk though, that was actually a lot of fun

Glad to see some love for Sausage Party, which at the moment is still probably in my top 10 :emoji_sob:

The 40 minute cut without narration. It's a classic tbh, but it feels too short, I feel like we need the 90 minute version in order to fully appreciate his vision. The most surprising thing for me was how different it felt in terms of vibe to the creation scene in The Tree of Life; I expected it to sort of be an extension of that but instead it definitely feels like its own thing that serves a different purpose.

I guess I'm the only American Honey agnostic. It was okaaay.

Saw Salo for the first time last night, cause that's how I spend my Friday nights. Lived up to the hype...was as horrific and disturbing as advertised. Its alternative title could have been "f--- this World, f--- Everyone in it and, most of all, f--- You". Which is to say I liked it...Not many films are just pure, distilled anger.
