Caught Woman in the Dunes. Teshigahara :emoji_fire::emoji_fire::emoji_fire:

I was expecting some lame a--- Bone Tomahawk tier movie, so I was just happy it had some deeper themes. Pretty funny as well. Ticked a lot of my boxes.

    It's a high masterpiece!
Finished it yesterday after marathoning parts 3-5...very, very strong...A thorough and definitive document of how racism, celebrity and the failings of the justice system collided in an epic American tragedy.

Anybody want to join a slack chat for movie discussion?

I'm not one to argue about what people like, at least I try not to be, but it felt like it was made by amateurs to me. Like a practical effects studio wanted to make a movie. The character work didn't convince me at all. Dudes were there for a paycheck. That town set looked like a tourist attraction they rented out. Didn't even think the gore was that great.

It's not mine. It's a boxing slack chat, but there's a movie subsection we're trying to get off the ground so to speak. Just PM me your email.

There's a TrueFilm one as well, but it's pretty dead.

People listed their top 10s a few pages back. Lots of stuff there.

Here's a list I have seen or would like to see:

I will say that when it's on TV, I usually leave it on, as it's fun to watch talented actors volley Sorkin's dialogue back and forth. I still find a lot of it corny though especially in the third section.
Agreed, it's pretty wack. Luc Besson ain't for me.

I think The Professional works for the most part and The Fifth Element is fun. Nikita is just ill conceived, badly executed garbage. Can't say I'll be seeking out any more of his movies myself.

La La Land mostly works thanks to its stars' charm, but I was admittedly bored for long stretches. I checked my watch at one point and couldn't believe there was still an hour left...Strong ending though.
