    currently my favorite scenes of the year from what I've seen are Audition and Epilogue from La La Land and Greatest Love of All from Toni Erdmann.

    Rides the Valentine's dance setup for too long with characters not likable enough to sustain it in the first place. By the time it remembers it's a slasher, the miner and his basis for returning felt like a sideshow. Better as a comedy than horror.

    Fair enough. The only character I really disliked was the comic relief nerd. Had a bigger problem with the ending more than anything. Love the kills and the mine though.

    Hmm, that's a good point. Tbh, I didn't even think of her because I automatically considered her as holding a 'leading actress' role, and she fell just short of Cynthia Nixon for me. If I considered her role as supporting, I'd prob have her, Stewart, and Williams stealing the whole category. Then again, I thought of Laura Dern as a lead role as well, and she might take a spot if considered differently. I had trouble selecting for Supporting Actress...not a lot of great roles. Watched Neon Demon the other day and Jena Malone, as you mentioned, could crack the list as well.

    Just wanted to share this ReverseShot review of Silence. Probably the best I've read on what's the most difficult film playing in the multiplexes (To no one's surprise, it's not exactly setting the box office ablaze.)
