I meant that it still might not get a 2017 release not that the release won't be wide. Cannes films often don't come out in America until the following year.

Going to try to see The Beguiled at the end of the month. It's playing at some hipster theater across the city. So there's at least one Cannes entry I'll get to see.

I believe it's set for a November 3 release this year in the US. I imagine that'll be initially limited, but expand shortly after.

Song to Song was pure bliss. I've always wondered what Malick working with a soundtrack would look like, and it was better than anything I could have ever hoped for. As much as I wish we could have gotten that proposed TV version out of all that footage we'll never see, I really can't complain. This movie is everything.

Can't wait for It Comes at Night. Krisha, the director's debut, is an absolute masterpiece.

Usually a good sign. The hottest crowds I've been apart of were The Hangover II, The Avengers, and Shark Night 3D.

The first thing I heard after the credits appeared was "that was seriously the end" followed by some "what the f---"s. The marketing was apparently very manipulative in shaping people's expectations. I didn't even watch a trailer before I went, so that didn't really affect me.

Rural Alberta. If I can't watch it online or on VOD at the end of December, it doesn't count for that year. We only get one movie a week in this town and we're a two hour drive from Edmonton. It's f----- up that I had to wait until February-May to finish seeing what I wanted to as most people were already seeing current releases that I won't get to check out for a minimum of 3-4 months. Wasn't as bad when I had that six screen theater in PG, but I can't stomach it now.

I regularly think about the people in NY/LA type places who aren't into movies. It kills me. Pretty sure I'd be in a theater almost daily if I was in one of those places.

Lol, just checked their wiki. You're right. I know Purity Ring is from Edmonton. Literally the only thing I know about that area is those two bands.
