Came back just to say phantom thread looks phenomenal, blade runner 2049 connected with me deeply (tho i totally get the criticism it's been getting, and I have no strong feelings towards the original) and I copped fire walk with me and stalker on blu thanks to the criterion sale.

It's frequently silly for sure (The middle-aged doctor and the 20 year-old f--- cause...umm...why not. I also was not prepared for the Irish to be the ultimate villains). However, it's still a really entertaining, more violent episode of the Twilight Zone with a handful of creepy moments mixed in (Strong beginning and ending...plus that scene with the family in the steel room).

It was cleverly put together as a pseudo-documentary and rather affecting as a portrait of grief. With that said, while its central conceit of inserting "ghosts" into still photos and grainy video footage is suitably eerie, I couldn't help but feel that the concept had more potential.

Yeah. They had it in my school library so it was just the DVD . (but the most recent edition)

Ending scene is hot. Pretty much turns into a thriller. Really left with me the realization of how good Phantom Thread is actually going to be. As a whole, probably a 4 out 5. I think it falls off a bit in the third act. As a whole though the concept is amazing (which brings me back to Phantom Thread).

been getting into the "awards season" IRL, guys. watching screener for battle of the sexes tonight. just caught three billboards outside billings missouri (meh).... saw coco (fine).... saw murder o nthe orient express (sukt)

missed lady bird tho ugh. and the new linklater. hopefulyl will catch up
