Aug 7, 2015 how about this kendrick on compton? i personally think the kendrick shade on TPAB is stupid but i understand how people can prefer him on GKMC i assume you are all perfectly fine with this kendrick? he sounds like control verse kendrick mixed with s80/gkmc lyrics and tpab delivery throw him on a dre beat and boom? might be kinda random thread but it always bothers me how lately people overlook TPAB because they don't care for the sound... we are all perfectly fine with this sound i assume? so the next album just needs to be same s--- different day?
Aug 7, 2015 Kendrick killed Compton so if anyone enjoyed Compton, they shoulda enjoyed kdot by default
Aug 7, 2015 i agree i just find it strange... i feel like if we took any verse from TPAB and put it on Compton, people would think he killed it but if you go to TPAB and have the same verse... they will say they don't care for it
Aug 7, 2015 Yeah, it really is. I like Kendrick for the most part, but TPABs production is a big turn off for me most of the time.
Aug 7, 2015 d--- you ever thought about remixing it with different production like your 808s ? that could be your next project tbh
Aug 7, 2015 I grew up listening to that funky jazz s--- when I was younger. I felt right at home listening to TPAB.
Aug 7, 2015 lol. i'd need acapellas or I wouldn't touch it. but even then, still no, wouldn't do that. if I remix a song it's cause I like it, and I don't like TPAB so. besides, it wouldn't make it more listenable for me, I think my remixes are awful
Aug 7, 2015 i may still eventually do that mix, but don't hold your breath. i attempted to start work on it awhile ago and it just wasn't going well so
Aug 7, 2015 I didn't dislike Kendrick on TPAB but I prefer how he sounds so much more on Compton. It may just be the beats. TBAP is an album I love to listen to when I can commit to listening and enjoy the story telling, but it's impossible to listen to in any other circumstance because it "sounds" horrible.
Aug 7, 2015 This. I actually like the production on the album, but to get full enjoyment you have concentrate and listen to the lyrics. It's still a good album but I don't rate it anywhere near a highly as some seem to rate it
Aug 7, 2015 Still gotta listen to Compton, but TPAB was bad because it was overwrought, moralizing garbage. As long as Kendrick avoids that, I tend to enjoy him.
Aug 7, 2015 I don't have a problem with either version of Kendrick. The production/sound of TPAB turned a lot of people off & made it less approachable I guess but there's nothing that can really be done about that, just pure preference. Kendrick executed what he set out to do with TPAB very very well though regardless.
