Sep 28, 2017 Lol that Suicide Squad song You Dont Own Me first song came to mind from this threa ....and SSLP the investors can have it...they aint gettin MMLP, Eminem Show, 8 Mile or anything post SSLP...Em will prob buy it all or something in regards to SSLP shares
Sep 28, 2017 They are selling their royalties. It includes any future releases involving them (most likely a new greatest hits album or unreleased songs like Lose Yourself (demo)). They do not own Eminem's catalog. They get royalty checks for SSLP as a whole, and each individual song they produced as well. when you give them money to "buy a stake" (really, giving them a loan), they then give you a percent of their check (a long term payout), you don't invest in anything, and they aren't increasing worth.
Sep 28, 2017 They aren't actual shares, and they aren't investing. Why would Eminem pay a high price up front for a stake in his own royalties?
Sep 28, 2017 I'm pretty sure they have some kind of crazy contract with Em - they signed Em first and Dre bought out Em from their deal when he signed Em to Aftermath back in the day and I think as a result they earn a share of revenue from everything he puts out, which is why it says his entire catalogue from 1999-2013, not just stuff they produced or wrote on, and therefore will include future output.
Sep 29, 2017 youre wrong there, they get 12-20% from everything that is sold with eminem name attached to it. ANYTHING. they make more from eminem music than what eminem makes himself(probably the main reason of em not working with them, hes bitter).
Sep 29, 2017 the deal they are offering is ridiculous, not only you dont actually get ownership of the royalties, you have to trust those 2 that theyll honor their part of the deal and wont f--- with numbers. With something as complex as royalties with streamings, ringtones etc... if you cant access their books, this deal is horrible.
Sep 30, 2017 This is complete bs. Eminem's deal with FBT Productions expired in 2008, after being renewed three times (1994-1999)(1999-2003)(2003-2008). During that time they got 12% on sales, and split licenses 50% with Universal, which then each gave Eminem a large portion based on his respective contracts. FBT now only gets royalties from songs on SSLP, plus songs produced/written by them.
Sep 30, 2017 false, find me proof of this nad ill believe you. their deal doesnt have an expiration date.
Sep 30, 2017 see how wrong you are: That's just a start. You'll also see that Aftermath held onto more than $2 million to pay its own legal costs in this very dispute. Keep in mind that this audit report only includes the time period between 2005-2009. We also understand that audit reports have also been prepared for the periods of 2002-2005 and 2010-2011. Against the defendants' objections, F.B.T. also is getting a large share on Eminem's latest releases, Recovery and Relapse, even though in 2009, after the litigation was filed, Eminem and Aftermath signed a new recording contract that explicitly pegged new royalty rates on sales and licenses of his new work. (Eminem was given a raise in his percentage.) http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/th...suit-aftermath-records-fbt-productions-293881 this audit happened before mmlp2 was released, bass bross are getting big % for life mate.
Oct 1, 2017 FWIW a while back I remember reading the Bass brothers only get royalties on SSLP tracks and a few tracks on MMLP. But I thought I remember it also said that's where their royalties end. They were bitter about this at one point. I'll try to find the article.
