Nov 12, 2015 On this date 5 years ago, Cole blessed us with Friday Night Lights. The original tracks on FNL were supposed to be included on his debut Cole World: The Sideline Story. However, label execs at the Roc didn't think the project would sell, so Cole decided to add a few remix's and release it as a mixtape. In The Morning is the only song from FNL that made the cut for CWSS. What are your thoughts on the tape today? Personally I can't believe it's been 5 years. This dropped during my 1st semester of college, so it was basically my soundtrack the entire year. It's one of the few projects that I can listen to straight through, and IMO it's Cole's best work to date. @JCN
Nov 12, 2015 Was gonna make a thread when I got to work today. You just beat me to it. My favorite project of all time. Have been giving this spins all day. Premeditated Murder >>>
Nov 12, 2015 Fell in love with the tape the instant I heard it. I bumped this and a couple other Cole tapes within a few hours of each other and this stood out as the best for me.
Nov 12, 2015 How do you guys think this would have been received it was his debut? Would it have sold more or less compared to CWSS?
Nov 12, 2015 This is the main reason his debut did so well commercially. Also d--- yall are good with these dates. Can one of yall keep track of my girl bdays for me. Would save me a lot of future troubles
Nov 12, 2015 I love the way FNL flows, but I think if you mixed and matched a few songs from both projects his debut would've been really strong. All the credit goes to Jermaine bruh.

Nov 13, 2015 No other Cole project will give me the same feeling as FNL did. This project is so nostalgic for me.
Nov 13, 2015 Couldn't have said it any better. Every time I put it on it takes me right back to the time it dropped.
