These albums define what great cross over song writing is based on. Not Afraid is not a great song lyrically if we talking technical rap aspects. But from a song writing perspective hook, mainstream appeal, harmony, simple but relatable lyrics to an average person who experienced everyday issue like depression, production it is classic. Song writing is not based on technical lyricisim it is based on writing catchy songs with a message and melody. Eminem sales are based on this since TES. Though hip-hop heads find this type of music/songs 'corny' 'popish' the general public love it He gets critisized when he actually does the technical multi syallable packing, punchlines, double time flow, immature content on features he leaves that style to featured verses. Most people dislike this type of rap even many hip-hop heads An album that has sold 16 million Recovery WW is the definition of an album loved by the general public, pop fans, mainstream rap fans
