Nov 4, 2015 If this thread has been made before, f--- it - I've been thinking about this all day and i rly dont want to go through The Doc 2 discussion thread to see these comparisons. After listening to The Doc 2 (which was a solid project), all I wanted to do was go back and listen to both The Doc & DA. I always thought The Doc was the better album because of what it meant to me growing up (just started getting into rap when it dropped), and because of the all star line-up littered throughout the album. Also when He dropped DA i was a huge G-Unit fan and didnt even bother listening to it because i was a dumbass 16 year old kid blinded by a rap beef lmaooo. Finally listened to it a few years later and really liked it. After listening to both back to back today, it's pretty obvious that DA is the better album for a couple reasons: It has SO MUCH more of a west coast feel than The Doc. Games hungrier after losing Dre. His song writing ability is 5 steps ahead of what it was on The Doc Not piggybacking off of 50s/Dres/Em's success Features are MUCH better Production is pretty on par with The Doc My G-Unit fandom prevented me from being around when people were comparing the 2 when DA dropped, so basically what I'm asking is - what were the initial judgments of the album in comparison to The Doc when it dropped and how do you guys compare the 2 today? this is my favorite song off the album btw..
Nov 4, 2015 I love both albums and I'd honestly say I would choose DA over The Doc of it wasn't for the fact that Gave name drops Dre in all but one track on DA. Once I realised that, the whole thing just annoyed me. But in order I'd say: The Doc > Doctor's Advocate > The Doc 2 >> LAX >>> Jesus Piece > RED Album >>> Blood Moon
Nov 4, 2015 The Doctors Advocate is more enjoyable to me and my favorite Game project. The only bad songs are the last two imo.
Nov 4, 2015 The Documentary's production is outstanding, yes - but you can argue that DA's is at least on par.
Nov 4, 2015 The Documentary is basically the closest thing we'll ever get to Detox. One of the greatest produced albums of all-time. Definitely a 10/10 classic. But Doctors Advocate is more impressive because Game proved he could do it on his own without Dre and 50. Documentary sounded like an Aftermath compilation album whereas DA sounded more like a true Game solo. It also sounded more West Coast.
Nov 4, 2015 Whoever doesn't agree with that is r-----ed. To answer the OP, Doctors Advocate is better in my opinion. It is the truest sounding Game album and the production on it is just flawless.
Nov 5, 2015 J.R. Rotem, one of the most underrated producers in the game & one of my favorites. Miss him tbh
Nov 5, 2015 i love both albums but gotta got with Doctors Advocate, that Lookin At You intro is insane.
