    Doug E. Fresh and Afrika Bambaataa are among those to be honored at the Center’s 1st Annual Extra Credit Awards.

    Genius/GZA, Rhymefest, Doug E. Fresh and Afrika Bambaataa are among the artists scheduled to be honored at The Hip-Hop Education Center’s 1st Annual Extra Credit Awards, according to allhiphop.

    The event is set to take place tomorrow (November 11) at the New York University Kimmel Center from 6-9 pm PST.

    The honorees, which also include Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey and Easy AD, were chosen for “their exemplary models of using hip-hop in education.”

    The program is presented in conjunction with NYU Center for Research in Equity and the Transformation of Schools and Wikiburg.
