May 2, 2015 This is going to flop very hard lol, especially now that the leagues are basically over. I've watched a few games of Dortmund, Freiburg and Wolfsburg this season, I found their teams very interesting. Especially Freiburg, I had read an article about how their youth academies are interacting with the local community. I was thinking if it'd be better for the summer or the next season, to have a general football thread. I didn't even remember that we had a separate thread for CL and it has like 4 posts lol. A big thread with summer transfers, then discussion about whatever (national leagues, cl/el etc) would be better, if it was semi-organised.
May 2, 2015 Nah, there are quite a few german members around, and Bayern is still in the CL so it might get activity. Also the title might be secured, but the places for cl/el haven't been taken yet I think.
May 2, 2015 Most of the discussion for soccer/football usually goes into the other thread we have but we can always discuss the evolving quality of the Bundesliga...crazy after 02 how the German FA completely reinvested in youth teams and academies, look at it now there are new stars popping up left & right wherever you look. Gotze & Schurrle are two products of that revamp and look they even won a world cup
May 2, 2015 This is so true actually. In the last 15 years Bundesliga had 5 (maybe 6? not sure if I remember correctly) different champions. Bayern is way too strong now, but the league is very competitive, and I really like their attacking style. Their work with the national team all these years has also been great.
May 3, 2015 I don't think we have enough posters who are interested in footbal in general, not mentioning about Bundesliga which is way less popular than Premier League. We can try to do something next season, but it's certain that this thread will not be doomed to success. As far as I'm concerned, I can assure you I'll do my best to keep that thread active. I watch at least one Bundesliga match every week, so I always have some thoughts to share with other fans of German football.
May 5, 2015 there's a few who talk about it, but as already suggested there should be a general football thread instead of seperate countrys or leagues
