Nov 19, 2016 We've all experienced this at least once. You're watching a fantastic movie, and then you're hit with a stupid and/or extremely disappointing ending. The other day I was watching the 1997 film "Devils Advocate" (trailer) directed by Taylor Hackford and starring Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. It's an amazing film, and one of my favorites while growing up. The ending was underwhelming and left me feeling so disappointed. Also, while I wouldn't say Paranormal Activity or The Blair Witch Project are "good" movies, they are entertaining enough to watch. The endings however (all three in the formers case) were pretty lackluster. Yes, I understand the ending of TBWP. So what are some movies you enjoy that have a disappointing ending?
Nov 25, 2016 AI: Artificial Intelligence. Holy f--- I have no idea what they were thinking with this one. I Am Legend. Plain and simple, they f----- up because the alternate ending is way better.
Nov 26, 2016 Prisoners ending pissed me tf off. Love the movie but the final three minutes make me cringe.
Nov 26, 2016 Eastern Promises. Kind of anti-climactic ending. Now if they ever do a sequel, then the ending's okay.
Nov 27, 2016 I really enjoyed the first 2 acts of 'The Wolverine' but the giant robot finale s----d. To be honest, the alternate ending is pretty weak, but it is certainly better than the utter betrayal of an ending that the theatrical cut had. Shame because the first half of the film was fantastic, minus some ropey CGI.
Nov 27, 2016 That's my point. Neither would be amazing endings but the alternate would definitely not be considered one of the worst ever. It made sense and it was unexpected. It would be somewhere in the middle. The theatrical is a f---ing abomination. The alternate also could've led to a sequel. With the theatrical it destroyed all hopes of that.
