t's everything I loved about post-hiatus Em. He was rapping more ferociously than he did back in the day, but it wasn't choppy like it became Post-Recovery. He also was still using the tenor in his voice rather than the pseudo-baritone he's using now (ShadyXV era).

bs aside, I love this verse.

Or is there any deal at all? Okay so, I've been wondering this for a while. There were/are some rumors saying that Em and Kanye arent really liking each other. Eminem and Kanye has never been in the studio together, never made a song for each other (inb4 Forever). They don't mention each other in songs or interviews (unless asked, which rarely happens). It could be that they just never got any reason to make anything together, as it doesn't need a big reason. Its just interesting to see.



Heres a timeline with stuff about Em and Kanye. (take much of it with a grain of salt though, I just add whatever I can find). I'm also adding some half relevant Royce v Kanye stuff in here as Em and Royce are besties.

2002 - "Bonnie & Clyde Freestyle" by Kanye West

2004 - "D12 World" produced by Kanye West, Eminem is not featured.
2004 - Encore lost Best Rap Album to Late Registration at the Grammys

2009 - Eminem released "We Made You", where he disses Kim Kardashian a lot. This was made before Kanye started dating Kim, but I can't imagine this doing anything good for Em and Kanyes relationship.
2010 - "No Love" by Eminem

2016 - (very much a random rumor, grain of salt not enough) Kanye would be "team Drake" if a Drake v Em beef ever happened, saying Drake would obliterate Em.

I prolly couldve added way more awards, but its pretty useless and would take a lot of time.

Please add s--- to this timeline if you got more. @SlickNick isnt there more about 50 and Kanye too? I remember some jabs thrown before, it might be a little relevant as Em usually sticks with 50.

Let's face it, Eminem isn't as popular as he once was. And in order to capture that magic he once possessed, he had to force a revisit and name his newest album as a sequel despite it having pretty much nothing to do with the original.

Pretty much the only comparative parts are:

• The first 3 verses of Bad Guy relating to Stan (these verse weren't even good btw)
• And Evil Twin being an ode to Criminal.

So what would you rename the album considering it has almost nothing to do with MMLP?

Personally I'd rename it: It Never ∃nds.

While a lot of people understand that Eminem is mocking the way people tell exaggerations and myths about the harmful effects of drugs, I haven't seen anyone recognize the actual point he was making in the song.

Eminem is not merely making fun of these exaggerations and myths to criticize the way adults tackle the subject of drugs with kids; he is drawing the parallel between the way the "just say no" people talk about drugs and the way these same people talked about Eminem/his music.

It is contained in this twist at the end:

But don't be me
Cuz if you grow up and you go and OD
They're gonna come for me, and I'ma have to grow a goatee
And get a disguise and hide, because it'll be my fault
So don't do drugs and do exactly as I don't
Because I'm bad for you

The message Eminem is trying to convey is that, just as lying/exaggerating about the harmful effects of drugs actually has the opposite effect of what parents intend and actually makes kids more likely to try drugs because they become more curious, the same is true when they use this same tactic with regards to Eminem's music.

The more they exaggerate/lie/try to stop kids from listening to Eminem's music, the more they make kids want to listen to it.

In this song, "drugs" are symbolic of his music (this isn't the only time Eminem uses the "music is a drug" metaphor; he did it more abstractly in "Stimulate").

The context for this song with regards to the album also adds to the brilliance. This was the song he chose to make for the "clean" version of the album in which "Kim" was removed. It's a clever swipe at parents, censors, etc.
