My mom was hospitalized this summer for suicidal thoughts and i was in and out of those places most of my high school years

Just don't let it bother you, it's not that big of a deal since most ppl get through it eventually

I have had depression my self and never told anyone about it irl. I also suspect my younger brother might have it has hes constantly being a d-ck to the rest of my family, I have tried to ask him about it but attack is his form of defense and it just makes him even more angry. I think it traces back to when there was earthquakes in my city and my parents divorced so there was a lot of stress in the family, my brother saw my parents being absolute d----s towards at each other at a critical period in his life when he was like 11/12 years old. I really dont know what to do about it

I guess if it's bothering you to the point of making you depressed as well perhaps you should go see your school counsellor or something.

Or try to open a dialogue with your mum about it?

Woah I never said depression was a joke. It's a very real thing.

What I meant is that a lot people these days seem to have that tendency of diagnosing themselves as such. Sad = i have depression. Nervous before an interview = i suffer from anxiety.

Being 'depressed' at certain times and not most of the day is called being sad, not depressed

I was diagnosed with depression when I was 13 and 24/7 every single day until I was 18 I wanted to end my life, depression is much worse than you getting sad because your mom won't buy you an xbox

Yeah my mom falls into depression every once in a while and I've had a few relatives who are r--- victims.
Best thing to do is not add to their stress and try cheering em up if you can.

You might end up being the reason they dont k--- themselves

I reckon start a dialogue with your father if it persists. Both of you might be able to figure out a way to support your mother a bit more or something... I dunno worth a try.

    Worked for me.

Meds should always be a last resort because most of the time they make things worse

Worst thing you can do. Communication can solve a lot of life’s problems. But at the same time you need to be in the right state of mind. Don’t think irrationally. At least you know what bothers you, what makes you unhappy. Now find out how to control your life. Speak your mind. Get it out. And find a way to move on. One thing I’ve learned in life is most of the time only you can make the change. Also find people to help you through it. Wheather it’s family or randoms on “Section80 “
    Be well

Sometimes the “end of the world” feeling, is just the beginning of a new leaf turned.
If you constantly view things as a negative than it will always be.
Find the good in everything and cling onto that.
