May 21, 2017 I'm going to clarify, he makes a living off of being on the internet as an aussie. I don't know if he makes a lot of money working for some tech company somewhere but not knowing exactly makes his "slow internet" thing work.

Speaking of, I remember reading back in 2013 that Sydney was going to be getting Google Fiber lines within the next 2 years from that time, did this ever actually happen?
May 22, 2017 lol. yeah our political climate here since like 2010 has been complete dog s--- and anytime a politician tries to do something, they are kicked out of parliament and the next party is left to pick up the pieces, but instead of picking up the pieces they try to innovate somewhere else and we have a half-assed s----c---- attempt. the fiber thing was going to happen, then the new party came in and said "no its not happening", then a newer party came in and said "fiber wont happen but we'll do national broadband network rollout instead " NBN = some over complex r-----ed fibre cabling to the node or some s---. they change their mind every fucken couple of months on it and it's like a rollout takes a couple of years, so basically we have the exact same internet we had 10 years ago - though if you are lucky our government owned ISP Telstra, can grant you cable internet which is internet running through Foxtel cabling or some s---. it's all f----- pretty much and the NBN rollout is happening now, but our dickheads in parliament are like "wahhhh nobody is calling us up and asking for it" and it's like c----, you fucken call them, ask if they want first world speeds and see what happens dipshit. I can't say for other states, but where i'm at atm, they are giving NBN to areas that are trash/bogan/filled with retirement home people.
May 22, 2017 also @Gavin i dunno if you know much about internet but... Ok these speeds are ethiopian to begin with, but why the f--- is it impossible for me to hit over 300kbps download speeds? I had the same s--- happen with the last ISP's, can never get over a certain speed, on any PC/device on the network, even if it's off-peak, even if it's the only device on the network and even if i use an ethernet cable from the router directly into the PC/device the speed will cap at 300kbps. like with my last 2 ISP's that were just as s---, it would say my download speeds are up to 2mbps but I could never get anywhere near those speeds, let alone half those speeds. Is it something to do with the upload speed? like I dunno how the f--- i can apparently get close to 1mbs speeds on this pingtest s---, but never get even half of those speeds when applied to downloading literally anything else. any idea wtf?
