Aug 5, 2016 Haha considering how dope Lost Tapes came out I would be pissed as h--- too. Try being a J.Cole fan like me tho, I bought his first 2 albums smh
Aug 5, 2016 I was the biggest Nas Stan ever, but after Nastradamus and Takeover, I was like LOL f--- NAS, JAY Z WON. I wasn't even the biggest fan of Ether, but hearing Stillmatic was one of the greatest listening experiences of my Stanhood. It's why it's my favorite Nas album. The intro still gives me chills.
Aug 5, 2016 Stillmatic is one of my most treasured possessions, first CD I ever got when I was a kid. Nas will always be my all-time favorite rapper because of that album.
Aug 5, 2016 Nastradamus was synonymous with great disappointment for the longest time. Well deserved too. Life We Chose, Project Windows and Last Words were very good, and a Premo beat is always apprecited so Come Get Me gets a pass too. The rest is weak and the production is a---. I didn't hear it on release so I missed the real disappointment. Looking back at the album in context it is not surprising that it turned out the way it did. I believe Encore comfortably took over the epic fail spot 5 years later.
Aug 5, 2016 don't f---in disrespeck rebirth again u f---in b---- it's a rock album don't compare it to rap albums
Aug 5, 2016 It was due to bootlegging. Nas wanted to make I AM...the autobiography a double album. The double album would consist of songs from I AM, nastradamus, unreleased songs and the lost tapes. Due to bootlegging, nas and the label basically said f--- it and made 2 albums. Nas recorded all of it in a short span of time and the production was bad. The original tracklist for I AM.. the autobiography looks like this Disc 1: Fetus- Lost tapes NY state of mind pt 2 Life is what you make IT Small world Hardest thing is to stay alive Poppa was a playa Nas is like Blaze a 50 Favor for a favor We will survive Some of us have angles Project windows Daydreamin, stay schemin Sometimes I wonder Undying love Disc 2 Intro Amongst kings Life we chose Drunk by myself Pray God love us Ghetto prisoners Last words Family Come get me Find ya wealth U gotta love it Wanna play rough The rise and fall My worst enemy If he released this it would've been so much better and his discography would be so much better too. He might even hade 3 classics in a row if he released this. It's a shame he didn't put it out, but you can make a Playlist of it.
Aug 5, 2016 Nastradamus got some good songs tho Project windows- the best song on the album imo And: Come get me Life we chose New world s---t em up Family
Aug 6, 2016 The album isn't half as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. It was just extremely disappointing in comparison to his previous albums. (I actually place it above "Untitled" and equal to "God's Son".
Aug 6, 2016 That's not legit, just a (pretty good) fan construction. The official tracklist has never surfaced.
Aug 6, 2016 The leakes showed that it was this. It's never been confirmed by nas or the label, but the leaks show this was probably the original tracklist.
Aug 6, 2016 I can think of at least 2 leaked songs that are not included on this fan-made tracklist. Also, there are a bunch of songs recorded for Nastradamus specifically that couldn't have been on the original tracklist.
Aug 6, 2016 Tell me the songs Then? I owned the bootleggers version of iam..the autobiography too and it was like that.
Aug 6, 2016 The Curse and Seeds of Heaven. Neither are on the tracklist above, probably because neither were available in full or untagged (though the latter has since become available). As for the Nastradamus sessions, I'd have to look them up to be more specific but the crappy, tinny production is a dead give-away for when they were produced.
Aug 6, 2016 I'd love it. I think it was Complex who did some great retrospective articles on "Illmatic" and "It Was Written". They had some great insight into the recording process, and I'm hoping they follow up with the story of "I Am". Like you said above, the double album could well have been another Nas classic.
Aug 6, 2016 Is there even a reason why nas never revealed it tho? Like it doesn't really matter anymore right, the albums are already put in their spot. Maybe he'll someday even release I am.. the autobiography, that would be amazing.
