Aug 28, 2018 August 2018: Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut The r--- of Europa: The Fate of Europe's Treasures in the Third Reich by Lynn H. Nicholas Institutes of the Christian Religion: Book 2 by John Calvin I try to read at least one fiction, one non-fiction, and one work of theology each month. That's been my personal goal since the beginning of 2017, and I've managed to stick to it pretty well. Sometimes I get through more books if one of those 3 is relatively short or easy to breeze through, but The r--- of Europa was so dense I almost didn't get through it. Really interesting material and fascinating accounts, but it's not an easy read. Highly recommend Galapagos though. For me it's easily on par with Slaughterhouse 5, so if you enjoyed it I'd give Galapagos a try.
Aug 28, 2018 Yeah I pretty much always have one fiction, one non-fiction, and then the book for the bookclub I'm in going on at once (and usually an audiobook too). I used to be in two book clubs but I felt like I never had time to read non-BC books. Slaughterhouse-Five s the only Vonnegut I've ever read so I'll give Galapagos a shot cuz I enjoyed it.
Aug 28, 2018 If you (or anyone) wants any recs lemme know what your interests are or any books you've enjoyed in the past (and/or tv shows/movies/etc if you haven't read in awhile). I'm always down to put people on to reading more.
Aug 28, 2018 I think you'll enjoy it. The narrator is the ghost of a Vietnam vet who doesn't move on to the afterlife but instead watches the evolution of humanity for the next million years into an aquatic seal-like species on the galapagos islands. lol It's a pretty great satire and it breezes by.
Aug 29, 2018 Probably 5-6 but they're all 500+ page reference books pertaining to my career. Also countless childrens story books to my daughter every night.
Aug 29, 2018 0. Slacking this year but bought a book off iTunes I haven’t read yet. Something much better reading a physical copy.
Aug 29, 2018 Im going to start with The Art of War. One of my friends lent it to me but I just never got around to reading it
Aug 29, 2018 Lemme think on that and get back to you. The only thing I can think of that I've read recently would be a graphic novel based on the Green River killer investigation. If you're interested in that at all I think I have a pdf on my computer I can send you.
Aug 30, 2018 Finished The Sellout yesterday. One of my favorite books I've read in recent memory—real good satire.
Aug 31, 2018 none cus i dont read lol. but i recently copped Lord Jamar's solo album CD. kinda rare. It comes with a 90 page booklet on how islam and the 5 percenter ideologies affected hip hop so im gonna read that when i get it
Sep 13, 2018 Apologize in advance. Not all are listed. Most are kinda sorta dark. Reread the classics many times. However, the last authors deal with death, witch trials, plagues, etc. Good reads.
