1st disc is great.. Drake when he wants to rap makes for a great rapper. If this was the only Drake we got 24/7 I would consider myself a fan. I've never cared for his RNB/singing side but even disc 2 stands out to me and I can listen to it without rolling my eyes. There's maybe 1 song on disc 2 that I just can't vibe to but that's also why I enjoy that we got 2 discs. 2 moods.

Bad might be too harsh but like I said in my other post, it certainly has more filler than Scorpion and lacks direction (because it's a "playlist") and since filler/too many songs seem to be the biggest critique of Scorpion from people that typically like More Life, I'm unable to wrap my brain around it. Scorpion has 2 discs for a reason... More Life gets called "a playlist" for a reason... so why does the # of songs only apply to one of the projects and not the other? At least with 2 discs, you get 2 different parts of Drake and a sound for each... meanwhile More Life is a clusterfuck because people wanna call it a "playlist" and the project suffers because of it and the amount of filler it has

I'm not one to complain about too many songs in the first place but I'm with you on the 2 disc argument

As far as More Life, Drake said it would play out like an episode of OVO sound radio. The only "weak spots" are the songs where he isn't/hardly around, but even then Sampha, Jorja, and Skepta all shined in that spotlight

They're really good projects and very different so it's hard for me to pick one over the other. They both fall below NWTS/IYRT/TC and above Views

You’re trolling and don’t know any drake fans then. This was a classic album. Period. A billion streams is almost hard to believe. I don’t think most people realize how huge and good the project has to be for numbers like that.

What are the weak points of Scorpion? I agree it's below IYRT and above Views for sure but disc 1 is really just full of hype tracks it's hard to find a weak point for me. Disc 2 has a f---ing MJ feature and a song called Final Fantasy that is sexy as h---. That alone just really makes this project stand out for me.

I'm literally basing this off SectionEighty and this thread https://forum.sectioneighty.com/drake-scorpion-out-now.t148627/page-94 … I was skimming thru it and see different posts I mean there's a dude with a f---ing OVO avy complaining about the amount of songs. Topping charts and breaking streaming records... he literally does that every single time. It's 2018, if he wasn't breaking the streaming record something is wrong. Like my OP said, the project comes off like Drake had something to prove and he did and this is made obvious by people on a HUGE mainstream level digging the music more than usual (more streaming records/charts) which is compounded by the fact that I think Drake tapped into the gaming world when he played Fortnite with Ninja... I don't know how in tune you are with that world (twitch)but those little kids f---ing love Drake because of the Ninja s---. That's literally millions of new "fans" that otherwise would have never listened to Drake. It's like they added the Final Fantasy song too just for the oldhead gamers... whoever is marketing Drake is a genius. I don't know how you are attempting to spin this thread into me trolling by slandering the album while also praising it? I'm not sure what you're even trying to say tbh

Drake will never be one of the greats. I do like some of his songs though. I hate "In My Feelings". The moment I heard it when the album dropped, I knew it was going to be a big, cringey single IG thots would yell from the mountaintops. Shoutout to Shiggy tho #QueensGetTheMoney. Thanks to him some of these b------s busted their a----s or got hit by cars while singing and dancing to that song.

The pusha thing shouldn’t have any effect. If anything, I think it gives the album more meaning because it’s drake addressing everything. I’m still listening to ~10 songs off Scorpion fairly frequently.

I agree with this but does it mean anything at the end of the day? Drake dropped Scorpion and everyone seemingly forgot he got rekt. I think of Jay/Nas and how Nas had the better death blow but at the end of the day Jay Z is 100x more rich and famous than Nas so he kinda lost regardless (If Jay is Drake and Nas is Pusha same deal). Pusha checkmated Drake but it obviously wasn't enough to do anything to his career say like how, Meek died and never came back from it.
