Usually the best time is in the morning after a shower and without eating breakfast. The regime you got going sounds great, as long as you combine exercise and more importantly a balanced diet you should be able to reach your intended goal. I finished 3 and a half years of division 1 soccer (just graduated) and trying to maintain an elite form of fitness eating properly and hitting the gym was a rewarding challenge, you'll get used to this regime in due time and best of luck on this.

Maybe I'm just extremely fortunate to be fit then lol.

I've been following the same eating and exercising routine for most of my 20's. I had to scale back from my football playing days, because I didn't want as much muscle as I had.

Needless to say, it worked, but I was already extremely fit before doing all of the things I said in the previous post.

I'll check it out though. I'm all for improvement, so thanks bro.

Go by measurements rather than scale. The scales great but if you're gaining muscle you may not be "losing" weight. You'll be losing fat, but gaining muscle. Therefore the scale isn't the best measurement.

Learning a lot of the things I've learned in just the past few years was similar to finding out Santa Clause wasn't real. I used to do everything you do and finding out there were other ways/methods that went against everything I believed really blew my mind. But I think it's a good think to always be evolving. I personally like the traditional way of doing things and would never incorporate junk into my diet regardless of how great the results could be. I think eating "clean" is much easier than going the IIFYM route. If I don't have junk in my diet I don't think about it where as if I'm trying to incorporate it into it I have a tendency to binge on those kind of foods. At the end of the day it all comes down to the individual and personal preference.

Here's another really good article backing up claims that food sources have zero impact on body composition.

Holy s---, my whole life has been a lie.

I'm literally stunned after reading that article.

I've heard of the same thing when it comes to McDonalds diets, but I figured that you can find nutrition at McDonalds, with apple slices, wraps, etc...

Never, ever, ever thought you could lose weight from JUST junk food, but that doing so, wouldn't effect your cholesterol. I'm shocked at that.

    Thanks for sharing that though.

Not at all. To put on muscle mass you should aim for a gram of protein per lb of body weight. If you're in an overall calorie deficit(which he'd be in at 1700 calories a day) then you need even more protein than that to make sure you maintain as much muscle mass as possible while cutting and losing weight.

I'm about 210lbs right now and I'm getting anywhere from 260-350 grams per day. Either way you can't really error with too much protein because any protein my body doesn't use I will just piss out as opposed to being stored as fat.

Yeah it blew me away when I first learned about it but it's really true. Food choices have nothing to do with body composition(fat loss and muscle mass). However as far as things like cholesterol and overall health goes.... I'm guessing that's an entirely different story.

I personally prefer the traditional "clean" eating approach. I still track and manipulate every single one of my macro nutrients though.

Who tried a popular these days Keto diet? Works?
I am keen to try this one out https://betterme.world/articles/7-day-diet-plan-to-lose-10-pounds/. It is only for one week and should be enough for me. First of all i don't need to lose much and second - i hate long diets and pretty sure i wouldn't make it too.

Keto is great, and you’ll lose it fast, but you have to stick with it otherwise the weight comes right back on.

I think little changes like don’t eat after 8, park farther out, take the stairs, smaller portions w/ low carb choices. Etc.. go to the gym (if you can) the weight might come off slower but it’s more permanent

I’ve always heard to not eat anything before bedtime, your metabolism slows down.
