Mar 15, 2017 So I saw a thread a little while ago talking about if Eminem came out today would he be successful.... Being intrigued by this thread I decided to rework Em's mainstream debut "My Name Is" with modern production. Here's a link to listen To be honest, I think this sounds pretty dope, and if this was dropped right now It'd certainly grab my attention. What do you guys think?
Mar 15, 2017 cool.. ngl I sill prefer the og to this also clean versions r for virgins I just drank 5th kool aid
Mar 15, 2017 Thanks homie, Used the clean version to try to see if I could hear this being played on the reading today or not
Mar 15, 2017 Well, the if the recording was done in modern day quality, then sure, i'm sure em would be dope on some trap beats
Mar 15, 2017 but heads up op.. i genuienly liked the elements u changed.. it's just has special place for me
Mar 15, 2017 that's modern production? Sounds like someone pasted Super Mario Bros 3 soundtrack over it
Mar 16, 2017 The whole point is to imagine it came out now Well I wanted to use the same melody as the original song, talk to Dre about that one hahahaha true PM me if serious
Mar 16, 2017 Yeah i would turn it off after 30 seconds. I don't hate your beats but it just sounds weird. Wouldn't even try to listen Eminem again if this was his first single now..
Mar 16, 2017 I hated this song even when it first came out. Still can't stand it, whether we're talking the original or any remix haha
Mar 16, 2017 Yeah that's what i thought. I can't even listen to original anymore. It's f---in terrible. Maybe i even do listen to FACK more often than My Name Is.
Mar 17, 2017 Meh.. different eras have different sounds. Just changing the beat doesn't work, the content would be banned in today's soft a--- world. Also the words he's using can be articulated and have shreds of intelligence and thought behind them so it likely wouldn't catch on today.
