Apr 15, 2018 Over the years, artists ranging from Bruce Springsteen, Miles Davis, Herbie Handcock, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel and Nas have had "essential" compilations made of them: : If Eminem had a "essential" compilation, what would it look it? (Solo music only, not BME or D12) In my opinion: Disk 1: 1. Infinite (F.B.E Remix) 2. My Name Is 3. Guilty Conscience (Ft. Dr. Dre) 4. Role Model 5. Just Don't Give A f--- 6. The Real Slim Shady 7. k--- You 8. Stan (Ft. Dido) 9. The Way I Am 10. Without Me 11. Cleanin' Out My Closet 12. Sing For The Moment 13. Till I Collapse (Ft. Nate Dogg) 14. Lose Yourself 15. Just Lose It 16. Mosh Disk 2: 1. Like Toy Soldiers 2. Mockingbird 3. When i'm Gone 4. Shake That (Ft. Nate Dogg) 5. You Don't Know (Ft. 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Ca$his) 6. Crack A Bottle (Ft. Dr. Dre and 50 Cent) 7. We Made You 8. 3 AM 9. Beautiful 10. Not Afraid 11. Love The Way You Lie (Ft. Rhianna) 12. No Love (Ft. Lil Wayne) 13. Berzerk 14. Rap God 15. The Monster (Ft. Rhianna) 16. Guts Over Fear (Ft. Sia) 17. Kings Never Die (Ft. Gwen Stafani) And because Revival just came out, I excluded any songs from it. Remember this is about his BIGGEST hits, not his best songs.
Apr 15, 2018 Big artists have several greatest hits come out during there career...and Curtain Call only covered half
Apr 15, 2018 Stimulate must be included, I know it was only released on the Cleaning Out My Closet single, but it is arguably one of the greatest songs he’s ever recorded... but in no particular order if I had to choose 30 songs, (seemed like a good number) excluding Bad Meets Evil tracks, D12 tracks, and any songs he’s featured on and kept it solely to his solo albums I’d select: Stimulate, Seduction, Talkin’ 2 Myself, Going Through Changes, Deja Vu, Brainless, Evil Twin, We As Americans, Who Knew, Marshall Mathers, Sing For the Moment, Til I Collapse, Cleanin’ Out My Closet, Say Goodbye to Hollywood, Lose Yourself, The Way I Am, Rabbit Run, If I Had, Tonite, Rock Bottom, Believe, Castle, Elevator, Criminal, Amityville, Almost Famous, Baby, No Apologies, Arose, & White America..
Apr 15, 2018 The thing was “Essentials” not specifically hits... Cause it’s two diff things.. Hits would be Curtain Call... Essentials is something else entirely..
Apr 15, 2018 Blasphemy.. can’t believe you think that.. I normally agree with you on a lot but this is something “We’ll never see eye to eye..” You see what I did there??
Apr 15, 2018 Disk 2 is so underwhelming compared to disk 1. I wouldn't even want to listen to most of the songs on that disk.
Apr 15, 2018 I like the effort...but nah. Essentials are greatest hits, not best songs. Cuz if it had been best songs, half of the 2nd disk of mine wouldn't have been included.
Apr 15, 2018 Because "Essential" collections are released solely by Columbia Records, and Eminem is interscope. Columbia is a good label though, probably one of the most wholesome.
Apr 15, 2018 Agree to disagree... Greatest hits are called greatest hits (Curtain Call).. even by definition, Essentials and Greatest Hits are two very different things..
Apr 15, 2018 Totally agree with you. I understand the argument, and tend to agree with it, that it should have somehow replaced Drips, When The Music Stops, or Say What You Say on The Eminem Show. But either way, the song is very overrated.
Apr 16, 2018 From a completely objective standpoint and trying to keep this to a single disc, it would probably look something like: Lose Yourself My Name Is Stan Cleanin Out My Closet River Not Afraid The Way I Am The Real Slim Shady Rap God Without Me Mockingbird The Monster Love the Way You Lie Bonus Track: Forever
