If you could reset and listen to one album for the first time again, which album would you choose?

Yeah I'd actually rather relive that first listen again man I was in awe. Was waiting for a project like that for a long time, not to mention when I saw that Eminem surprise dropped an album I thought to myself "here it f---in is, the album I've been waiting for since his mixtape days" then I heard it and was so happy to hear him be like he used to be. f--- all that please the masses trash, was good to hear him do what he wanted to do again

I will never forget the feeling of downloading mmlp and that first program we used back in the day. Before kazaa and all those

It was one of the first projects I'd heard completely fresh & on release day since fully falling in love with Hip-Hop.

What's horrible about his vocals btw?

Go back and listen to 2001, and then compare vocals with his Compton s---. His voice imo sounds badly aged, kinda similar situation can be used in regards to Eminem although with Em, it seems to be an artistry decision (Mostly lol)

I feel you though... The first rap album I bought with my own money was 'Life After Death' at the young age of 13 lol.

The whole experience of kamikaze was surrealistic.
A surprise album by em that was everything that i wanted to hear from him in years...
after one of the worsts albums of the last decade.
probably my best moment as a em fan. I woke up at the middle of the night not being sure if it was a dream or some s--- like that for minutes.

I mean, his delivery is definitely less straight-forward & crisp, different artistic choices, different writers too. I think some of it is to do with the way the vocals are digitally processed now compared to 2001 being analogue.

I love it though, it feels like Dre is more of a rapper on Compton than any of his other projects, instead of just being there as a placement where the focus is solely on making the songs sound good. Both completely different vibes, I can understand how people expecting a revised/updated 2001 would feel disappointed hearing Compton as they were expecting something much different, but for me it was an evolution, a step up to his artistry.

I still want Detox though lmao.

Life after death. I was grounded the day it came out with no tv or video games for dropping a stink bomb in Sunday school and all I had was that CD for a week and it got me through my bid

I wish. I truly wish i can put into words what trss did to the middle east when it was released. I have never seen any song or artist shake up an entire part of the world. I am having so many flashbacks atm

Probably revival. It was the best listening experience I’ve had in a while. Would be nice to listen to it again for the first time.
