Jun 22, 2018 I hate that the only part of this song I remember is "pooped Jerusalem" why did he add those last few lines
Jun 22, 2018 Big Dangerous really proud of the fact that an Eminem cd wasn’t the first rap album he listened to but John Cenas debut isn’t any better
Jun 22, 2018 Dawg, I'm actually only 17. Why so serious on messages boards for? I'm demon youth, just like you. I'm just sad --- passed away. Don't mean to take my aggression out on you. Not your fault. That tattooed faced guy ruined it for everyone.
Jun 22, 2018 notice how eminem fans love eminem for his lyrical miracle multi syllable big words, yet eminem fans have difficulty spelling s--- like eviscerate
Jun 22, 2018 didn't pusha do like 50k? jay's sold high cause beyonce and females are 75% more likely to purchase music than men. eminem aint selling s--- and nor is kanye. 6IX9INE got more money then all of them combined off just 1 youtube video.
Jun 22, 2018 That's because people cant understand what they say..not saying that's their fault but I don't see how this has anything to do w race. Most of rappers have the same race and they aren't labeled as such
Jun 22, 2018 @Big Dangerous top comment is someone who isn't a complete idiot thankfully: "Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but reddit is really weird with rap. The only things that get upvoted are things which apeal to a sense of superiority. Its almost always Token, or Eminem, Lil Dicky or some random white guy rapping over a mumble rap instrumental (to show how a real lyricist would do it /s), or Hopsins song poking fun at mumble rappers. Its always a video that basically amounts to "now this is real hip hop. Kids these days dont understand, but i do because i Have an understanding they dont. Lyricism is not the single most important thing to making music. If that's your cup of tea then fine, we live in a world where you can literally find any song you like in seconds, you have plenty of choice. "Mumble" rap has a strong focus on catchy, repetitive lines with a stronger focus on rhythm and delivery rather than lyricism. Its about the feel of the music as a whole rather than quick delivery or a deep message. More importantly, and im sorry to say this, a lot of you guys are not the demographic for popular music anymore. There was a time where Eminem was almost universally praised, but the whole say off the wall, offensive things or talk about killing your baby mama stuff didnt exactly age well. Plus for the past decade Eminem's output has been meh at best to awful at worst (im looking at you Revival). This song is good, but it doesnt eviserate any mumble rappers, its eminem doing what he has been doing for two decades. The whole protect 'REAL' hip hop stuff is very quickly starting to become more "kids these days dont understand, and im not out of touch, they are". Approach things with an open mind. Go search up some of the popular artist of today, if you dont like it then you can just go right back to what you were listening to before, no harm done. Edit: I woke up this morning to a lot of activity on this comment, and unfortunately I don't think I was concise enough to get the point across that i wanted too, and it may have come off as harsh or abrassive and for that I apologize . In the end, all i was attempting to say was enjoy what you enjoy and let others do the same. No music is objectively better or worse than any other. The only reason I had that reaction was because of the baity title of this post. You dont need to s--- on other music to enjoy this. I do like this song and I do like eminem, i was just trying to highlight that he's not as infallible as much as the commenting reddit community seems to believe. The demographic comment was made just to illustrate that not only do most of these new school rappers not care that you don't like/understand them, but also that some of them actively try to piss off the "old head" crowd. Furthermore, the fact that this has gained so much traction despite me saying it may be an unpopular opinion is funny, trust me that irony is not lost on me. Evidently, this opinion is shared by many people on this site and im not some rebel going against the grain, nor was my intent to be. I was just trying to caution against thinking in an echo chamber, and the replies to this comment are no exception. Keep an open mind and enjoy what you enjoy. Whatever music makes you happy is right for you."
Jun 22, 2018 Good article. And also getting what u mean. But I don't believe that most people call them mumble rappers having in mind 'hahaha because they are black!!'. You can make that connection for sure, but I don't think its the intention -at least for most people-
Jun 22, 2018 I just love how the people commenting on this r/videos post are genuine in their naivety, they aren't doing it to troll or get a rise out of someone, and they obviously aren't 'in the know' enough to actively want to diss a portion of the fanbase and genre. They're just average people who think Eminem is dope cause he rhymes a lot and that modern music must be of lower quality because it just is and that's what they've read from other people like them on the internet so it's true. It's sad that this whole thing has caught on but I guess something like this happens every generation.
Jun 22, 2018 I don't think real racism has to stem intentionally from race. People are subtely racist too, or mask their racism with other justification. You can't really come out as a straight up racist in society (not as much anymore, this is a good thing) but people still find ways to get their racist remarks and thoughts in. Disrespecting rap music and calling people mumble rappers is an example of that deeply rooted feeling toward black people for example.
Jun 22, 2018 that's essentially the point I made -- not that every person who uses the term is a racist (because that's obviously not true) but that the term likely is rooted in racial connotations
