Jan 15, 2018 Yes it is... And it's not like people loved any track on the album. Most of the critics never ever even mentioned how great Castle & Arose were. They basically trashed them by saying "Em is on same topics as he was before, he is still talkin' about same stuff he has been for years". The main reason critics are bunch of haters who are very far away from objectivity when it comes to Eminem. Actin' like there is a rapper who talks about very different unheard topics in each album. Lol. Stupid f---ers. All in all, Eminem could have named any of the tracks on Revival easily for that line and he basically picked the best rhyme possible.
Jan 15, 2018 Listen to how contrived, forced and awkward Eminem's chosen flow on IYH is compared to SGTH. This thread is a valid representation of Marshall's loss in organic rapping and ear for what sounds good.
Jan 15, 2018 Eminem is dumb. THIS sample is for the Donald Trump diss, not that gay song called like home. It would be a classic if he dissed trump with that amazing and classic chorus.
Jan 15, 2018 This. And while they may be related spiritually, they are executed quite differently. Say Goodbye to Hollywood is amongst the very best songs he has ever made (easily top 5), while In Your Head, although not as bad as the rest of the album, is average at best.
Jan 15, 2018 So I'm not the only one whose hair wasn't blown back by this song. Good to know not everyone's a bandwagon hopping autist who thinks not liking that s-----y overplayed Cranberries song is a "r-----ed" opinion.
Jan 15, 2018 The forced rhyme scheme (like people have mentioned) is such a turnoff for what could have been a post hiatus classic. Also the chorus is not the problem with this song, it was one of the better samples/hooks on this album.
Jan 15, 2018 I don't remember the lyrics cause I deleted revival from my music player but I know in the second verse he's riding the drums and it's the most awkward flow ever that I can't even give a f--- what he's saying, it bothers my ears just trying to decipher it blahblahblah, HAY LEE I didn't mean to make u, EIGHT TY percenta, blahblah IT MAY SEEM somethinsomethin CRAY ZEE God it's so awful and contrived. I really wanted to like the song because I really liked the sample and subject matter and the beat was okay too. If I would rewrite my revival review right now I would probably lower this tracks rating I feel like I gave it a good score but in hindsight it's prolly due to the rest of the album being so bad
Jan 15, 2018 My exact thoughts on this as well. Definitely one of his most overrated post hiatus songs.
Jan 15, 2018 Dude revival is going to age like garbage...again looking back on it the idea for the sample is sooo good but yet on the song the hook is just the chorus repeated over and over...like Em didn't add s--- to it a all he was that lazy when it came to the songs inception Like imagine how awful it would've came out had the sample not been badass enough on its own He could've made this track something special if he cared to
Jan 15, 2018 Em's laziness finally caught up to him on this album and it shows. This is the first Eminem album i only listened to for a week and then stopped entirely. Even the "good" songs I havent played in a while. So much wasted potential on all the samples and hooks. You are spot on with this song. Even the Remind Me sample could have been used so much better instead we got a bottom 10 Em song of all time. Alicia's hook was really good too and Em had two mediocre verses to go with it. The list of missed opportunities goes on these are just two of my other disappointments with this album along with IYH
