The worst thing Em has inadvertently done to tarnish his career is that he's obviously a huge inspiration to A LOT of s-----y s-----y YouTube rappers lol

His latest output is pretty lame and I think he should retire already, if all he's gonna do is make multi syllable poop jokes and 'women are sluts' tunes at age 48, but he's not a bad rapper. Wish he wouldn't try to appease his stanbase that is stuck in 2003 and maybe evolve a bit if he continues. He has the same problem as Nas, where it gets exhausting to listen to him because he's just not flowing like he used to.

Mediocre album if we compare it to any other well crafted album that came out last year. I guess I just grew out of him, his music doesn't do it for me anymore

I understand that completely. I like it, but like I said even people usually critical agreed it was a good album. His rapping was a lot better imo.

But yeah to each their own of course.

A real mixtape isn‘t on sale. He still sold it so it doesn‘t matter.

Em is inconsistent. He has a high floor and a low ceiling. He can be very good, and very bad. In the past 10 years, he's had some good verses and songs, but his albums aren't cohesive.

While I do agree with some of your earlier statements, saying Eminem has not evolved is not true.

Recovery is an obvious example. It might not have been liked by everybody but he went in a totally new direction. I don't think any of his new albums sound alike either.

If you want to talk about Eminem evolving you should talk about his content, not the music or the beats he uses. Because it's the content that hasn't evolved very much.

50 Cent would be a prime example of someone who hasn't evolved. I love 50 but the music he makes still sounds like it's from 2005. That's just not the case with Eminem. And that's why Em is still relevant in this day and age.

Take MMLP, TES, Relapse, Recovery etc... You couldn't have more different sounding albums.

This. At this point, he doesn't have much to talk about: he raps because he has fun playing with words and syllables.

Early in his career, Em has thrived off of conflict and challenge (the struggle of being an underground rapper, the struggle of fame, his marriage, upbringing, beefs with other celebs, looking for acceptance), and he used that as fuel and motivation to make great songs.

But now he's at the top of the food chain and run out of predators.

A rap song contains content, flow and beats. You cant have a good song if you only develop one skill of them. Recovery was a money grabber album for me. He had pop features, songs where he sings and cries. And music videos for little girls where meghan fox has relationship problems. Relapse was more of a step for me but it still lacked quality overall

When you said he hasn't evolved you specifically talked about his beats saying he should work with modern producers.

But if anything Eminem has expanded more in the past years than he ever has earlier in his career.

When Em started out he would always work with the same people. Now he works with a bunch of new artists and producers.

Whether you liked the albums or not is irrelevant to the point you were trying to make which was him not evolving.

Look at the producers on the last album. They are good producers from the past. Alchemist, em himself, dre, royce etc. all dusty production. And he is definitely not evolving. He used the forever flow for ages until it got annoying. He still has problems with his voice. Sometimes he sounds like a robot or he screams. He ruined his legacy. His discography is s--- after his first 3 classics it went downhill miserably.

The song Darkness has creativity and storytelling that's on par with (or at least close to) Stan.

He can make good songs. But most of them nowadays aren't.
