Eminem is legit the mascot for edgelord cornball rap and is definitely the most overrated rapper of all time.
I give him his due credit for MMLP being edgy but also having some swag on it as well but that's about it. 8 Mile f---ing sucks too.

No, he just transcended rap. He's like a pop star, an icon of an era. People don't understand, especially young people, how big Eminem was worldwide. It's easy to become overrated when your fanbase is 3x the size of most rappers.

Every rapper pretty much licks the floor this guy walks on. He's not that good, but everyone is convinced he's the King of rap and they will go to the grave saying s--- like "Tupac wrote the game and Eminem mastered it" just corny s---.

Any verse he ever lays is automatically labeled a classic, usually followed by "The King is back"

The corn this dude makes is some straight out the can s---.

Kendrick gets heat for being overrated, but atleast he gave us 2 certified classics and prior to 2016 his guest verses were noteworthy fire.

I don't think you can fully blame it on the addiction though. look at Scott Storch, guys still making hits after his coke habit. There's also a fair few Australian rappers that are similarly recovering prescription pill addicts, all of their music has gotten better if anything.

It really makes me think that Eminem was a degenerate annoying loser c---- that needed drugs to be normal.

i'm not sure if anyone else had a comparable decline, i'd have to think about it.

however, i do agree with you that eminem fell off hard. like, some of my other favorite rappers aren't as good as they use to be, but they didn't drop off to the extent that eminem did. and it pains my heart---because i LOVED eminem back in the day. he was so fun to listen to and it was effortless for him.

you seem to be suggesting that he just doesn't care----and that's the reason for his big decline. that's a possibility---but its a far-fetched one IMO

Eminem has more fans than Jay-Z, Tupac, and Nas put together. Wanna know why? I think if I said why, most fair-skinned individuals would get their panties in a bunch. Lmfao. I love when people mention how many records he sold like there wasn't an obvious "Elephant In The Room" factor that helped him propel and catapult self to that level of success in his career.

The main reason he got the size and popularity that he did was because of his skin color. Angsty white kids had someone they could naturally look up to and fit in with rap.

Best thing Eminem ever did in his entire career was put on 50 Cent, otherwise dude can never drop music again and the world would be a better place.
