Jan 25, 2016 I've posted this in other threads but I think it's all coming down to Ape Sh!t. Honest, Monster, Beast Mode & 56 Nights all had unique sound directions and different concepts, while DS2 just sounds like a mix of the throwaways from the previous tapes. Purple Reign is a step in the right direction as it experiments with new stuff, but also a step backwards with blatant regurgitation like the title track aka Codeine Crazy pt. 2. I'm not going to expect Beast Mode 2 or Monster 2 to be innovative, so it really falls down to Mike Will who has been experimenting with some new drums that I'm really excited to hear.

Feb 3, 2016 I'm never sure if people are entirely serious about their "objective" music ratings around here but they're kinda bs and make me not want to contribute to discussion if I have an alternative opinion.
Feb 3, 2016 DS2 is on the same level as the mixtape run. Purple reign is a league below. Too much of the same thing, in the same way but not better. Even future on WATTBA is better than the majority of PR. The only track off purple reign that's extreme memorable to me is inside the mattress (God bless Nard & and each future mixtape has at least had 4 of those standout joints. Regardless I'm excited for this project. More of the same isn't necessarily a bad thing but if we've heard it before it better be hot as f--- because I don't want to see future start fading in quality this soon.
