Interstellar is an interesting movie that's not for everyone. It sort of reminds me of those old epics in the 70's where there are long acts and long scenes, it's slow to start but once it gets going then it really gets going; much of the film I think is a character drama with some action mixed in and some factual science mixed in there for good effect. It's like a novel that rewards you for it's patience, it got good praise so I don't know what it's overrated/underrated but yeah. I think it gets overshadowed by movies like Inception and The Dark Knight at times.

I enjoyed the film, I don't know if it's underrated. It seems to have gotten the amount of accolades that films like that tend to get. I knew I was going to like the movie just based off the fact that Nolan was directing and it covers theoretical physics and time and space. I didn't see Interstellar in the theater but I saw Contact when that came out (similar subject matter and McConaughey was in that too). My father and I dug the film because it dealt with concepts that his former college professor, Michio Kaku, spoke of and wrote about. I got to meet him as a kid and read "Hyperspace" years ago and always liked seeing him on TV or hearing him on the radio. Interstellar is much better than Contact. I can barely watch Contact nowadays.

It definitely is not underrated. It's not overrated either. But considering how f---ing insanely overrated are most of Nolan's films (Inception, The Dark Knight, etc.) I'm actually surprised how minor Interstellar became. It's probably his best film since the Prestige, and yet it didn't skyrocket the way some others have.

I'm not condemning the movie because of love elements, but because it used it as the plot. Half of the movie felt like a sci-fi movie with love elements, the other half felt like a love movie with sci-fi elements.

Btw, don't get me wrong. I still liked the movie a lot, just didn't f--- with it like I thought I would watching the good first portions of the movie.

Overrated tbh. Not a bad movie by any means, too pretentious.

Great film but not a top 3 Nolan film.

Enjoy BB, Momento, Inception, TDK, all more. It's been a very long time since I saw the prestige. I need to watch it again.

Awesome movie, but sometimes, the music was louder than the dialogue and it was very difficult to hear what they were saying. For whatever reason, that's what Christopher Nolan wanted. Other than that, I loved the movie.

I personally think it's underrated and under appreciated in terms of creativity and the message it brings

You ever see the signal? I'm not saying it's as good as interstellar(love interstellar) but it's a weird movie that keeps you guessing the whole time. Just when you think you know where the movie is going you don't lol
