If you like sci-fi (assuming you do since you're reading Dune), you should DEF check out Butler. One of my fav authors of all time. The Lilith's Brood trilogy is also fire, you should be able to get a copy of all three books in one for pretty cheap (and they're like 200-250 pages each so it's not super super thick)...$12 on amazon which is a bangin deal.

I finally figured out what song I was thinking of (thanks Wikipedia!). It was Talib Kweli’s dedication song to Lauren Hill called Ms. Hill.

Anyways, I appreciate the recommendations. I love sci-fi, it’s my favorite genre. I’ll add The Lilith’s Brood trilogy to my backlog. Thanks!
