For sure, I'm interested to see where Kendrick is at after 2 or 3 more albums.
As for right now, Kanye's on top in my opinion (but he seriously needs to put out something new soon-ish. Need a release date or a tracklist for SWISH)

Alright, his vocals are lacking a little bit, but that's still a pretty ballsy thing to even attempt.

Kanye performing Bohemian Rhapsody just reminds me of Jay Z performing Wonderwall. Kind of a big f--- you to all those who doubted them headlining. It got the crowd singing though, and then he called himself the ''greatest living rockstar on the planet''......

Soon as they like you make em' unlike you :kanye3:

Yes. Famous rappers today are the equivalent (in fame, adulation, opportunities) as rock n roll stars were in the 70's and 80's.

The disgust toward Kanye calling himself a rockstar mainly comes from suburban baby boomers who are disgruntled that their children are listening to different music than they are.

No. He isn't and he knows it, he never made a single rocks song in his life.

What he means by screaming he's the biggest rock star is, like he explained in the BBC Zane Lowe interview, that rap is the pre dominant music culture right now.
The big rappers now will be remembered in 40 years like the big rockers from the 60-90 are remembered and how the big jazz artists from the 1st halve of the 20 th century are remebered.

So there are two messages, one, that rap is the new rock, two, that he's the biggest rapper.

I thought more people would understand this on a Kanye forum.

Thought thread was a troll when I first saw it. Really depends on how you interpret the word "rockstar". But IMO, A rockstar would be more in the spotlight for things like excessive drug abuse, weird backstage antics, being too loud etc. IMO Kanye doesn't fit into what I picture a rockstar. Kanye falls into the rapstar category for me because he's in the spotlight for things like his fashion industry struggle, public outbursts, "rude" behavior in public etc. He's from Chiraq, he's still got to have at least a bit of that street/thug mentality in him.
:bookah:looooooooooooooool. actually laughed reading this. Like, those 2 albums? HAHAHAHA. how is it Kanye and Slaughterhouse? Like, they are so f---ing different. Not only that, but, majority of people who Stan slaughterhouse will say Kanye isn't a "real lyricist" so it's even more profound you would pick them together as your most anticipated albums lmao.
