Aug 3, 2017 Seeing so much online chatter about it lately it's been around forever but seems to be what's really trendy rn constantly seeing this stuff used in skate videos on instagram and shared by the "in crowd" does this mean america has finally begun to embrace dance music? sound is getting really played at this point but the scene it's cultivated lately is undeniable so what do u think americanos of s80 examples:
Aug 3, 2017 Lol @ America doesn't embrace dance music. We have tons of super rich dance producers. Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, and everybody who plays at those giant a--- festivals every summer. I've heard Subjoi. "Ross from Friends" and "DJ Seinfeld" sound so memey though.
Aug 3, 2017 lol i mean like actual non flaming garbage dance music, those guys are the equivelant of macklemore and g eazy in hip hop yeah idk its part of the ####aesthetic i guess it's that whole nostaliga thing that kids are into these days
Aug 3, 2017 yea this is what im talking about lol americans are the only one with this weird view bc its like you guys have no exposure to good dance music for some reason i really dont get it the fact that you would bring up skrillex and steve aoki speaks volumes, im rly curious as to why it's like this
Aug 3, 2017 Bruh, my favorite era of pop is 80s synthpop. I've heard tons of dance music. Tons of foreign artists were big over here Daft Punk to Fatboy Slim. Giorgio, The Dust Brothers, Flying Lotus, Sparks, LCD Soundsystem, are all from the US. Michael Jackson was on dance tracks. Donna Summers was on dance tracks. There was this little thing called disco. We also produced Phillip Glass one of the most respected composers to dabble in electronic music. I'm talking about the 1% of dance that is actually popular. Tiesto is the richest guy in the biz m8. You're talking about the latest Soundcloud niche like that's what the average person listens to lol.
Aug 3, 2017 Eh those aren't really dance music I mean house, techno, drum&bass, jungle, garage etc The average young person does though is my point just not in America for some reason Although I think this wave of Lo fi house is crossing over to America and gaining traction that's why I made this thread
