    MMLP2 is not supposed to be a sequel tho, it's more like a re-visitation

    But in other news, MMLP2 also not a 'classic' imo.

    The album is literally called The Marshall Mathers LP 2. The opening track is literally a sequel to Stan. The parking lot skit literally picks up where MMLP ends. What more do you need to accept it is definitwly a sequel? Wtf does revisitation even mean? If you can provide a definiton that doesn't remotely sound like the definiton of sequel I'll be impressed. What exactly did he revisit? The themes? The content? Surely that makes it even more like a sequel than something like the Carter series. For example Carter III and Carter IV are a lot different to Carter I and Carter II. People just dont want to admit it's a sequel because they know the album doesn't even come close to the quality of the first MMLP. But to say it isnt a sequel is just plain wrong.

    I would consider a sequel something that picks up the same themes, content, characters, and continues the story. This is more like referencing from MMLP, like "remember MMLP? well here's what my life's like now" I didn't look at MMLP2 as having the same energy or 'concept' as the first one.

    But I guess you're right, it can be considered a sequel but imo it's just him making a similar kind of album but highlighting the differences that there are at 40-something years old.
