Sep 23, 2020 Despite thinking MTBMB >> Kamikaze due to sound/theme consistency throughout the album, i think Kamikaze might be his 4th classic cause of the impact it had. d--- he broke the internet and the scene back then, impressive era.
Sep 23, 2020 I would say as a whole it's the easiest he's been to listen to since Recovery Kami was good but for a short project had too many average/bad songs for my liking - Nice Guy, Kamikaze, Greatest bring it down, and although I like Stepping Stone, Good Guy and Venom - they feel out of place. If you mix the best from kami and music he would've been a lot closer to his post hiatus classic. I just feel like current Em is unable to deliver a classic introspective, personal song. He could still do this with ease on Relapse and Recovery with Deja Vu, Beautiful, Careful What You Wish For, My Darling, Going Through Changes, Talkin 2 Myself, but with Castle and Arose on Revival his delivery and production was terrible.
Sep 23, 2020 I feel the problem with his introspective attempts these days is he tries to force a feeling instead of writing/recording in the mind state.
Sep 23, 2020 Just because it came before those 2 classic albums doesn’t make it a classic. It’s a good, even sometimes great album (it’s kind of aged badly tho). The only people that call SSLP a classic are people who only listen to Eminem. This man is allowed to have a good album that IS NOT a classic lmao. We need to stop with this word.
Sep 23, 2020 That’s kind of a moot point. You seem to be a real Eminem aficionado, so perhaps I should take your word for it.
Sep 23, 2020 I wasn’t arguing over if it’s a classic or not. I was responding to your point about only Eminem fans thinking SSLP is a classic. That’s not true at all, nor is the point moot. Anyway, 41-33
Sep 23, 2020 Oh word? PM me the link to the survey you administered to all “non em fans” about their position on SSLP. 41-33? Did football end after that SB? I completely forget what happened the next year, can you remind me? You a moot MFer LOL
Sep 23, 2020 I voted yes, but I don't know if it's a classic. I can't argue with his first 3 being called classics, but this is my favorite album of his since TES.
Sep 23, 2020 Yeah of course, if you don’t mind sending me that poll with the data showing that only Em fans consider SSLP a classic that’d be great as well.
Sep 23, 2020 I said people that only listen to Eminem. Which was meant to be humorous. Idk what you’re on at this point, bud.
Sep 23, 2020 If it's justifiable to call any after his first 3 classics, then I would say he has 5, and the others are Relapse and Kamikaze.
Sep 23, 2020 this. it's good, really good but nowhere near MMLP/TES level. not quite recovery level either. it's a solid album, hopefully he can put out a couple more. it's his bar right now.
Sep 23, 2020 Agree except I think mbdtf and kami are on the same level if not better than recovery (to me). Close though
