Is mumble rap dead already?

    Exactly. But those are people who probably say s--- like that to trigger people on purpose. And they do mean it in a negative way of course.

    I'm talking about the casual rap listener that listens to a song and is like what is he saying, sounds like mumbling to me. Don't think thats a big deal or a mean thing.

    For the record I sometimes have to google a line from Future as well, because of his accent (sometimes) but we're talking about my top 3 fav current rappers

    If you can’t understand the logic here then idk what to tell you.
    Not understanding someone else’s music is your failure as a listener, there’s an innumerable amount of people who have never had any trouble understanding Thug and them. Get better at listening to music.

    Except yes it obviously does and burying your head in the sand and refusing to acknowledge it won’t make it go away.

    Repeatedly denying it won’t make it a thing.

    But it doesn't sound like mumbling at all? Most "mumble" rappers are pretty easy to understand, especially when compared to lyrical rappers, so I don't understand why the term is used to describe them.

    i don't understand the "get better at listening to music" comments in this thread or anything along those lines. guys, hip hop is NOT complicated. it doesn't need to be analyzed and studied. for the most part, its very straight forward. i don't know, i just feel some of you read too much into this stuff

    from what i gather, people don't like when its called mumble rap because that term has a stigma associated to it.

    I didn't invent the term and I also don't use it myself. Its just the snobs saying s--- like 'get better at listening music, its ur fault for not understanding it' thats kinda lame to me. Nothing against @Winter btw he's a good dude but I disagree w that statement

    I'm also not blaming it on artists though but I mean if someone speaks a sentence or whatever and u don't understand it idk how its a mistake.. u simply dont understand. It is your problem however, not the artists
