    The reason most people don't know most of these guys is because there's clearly a strong bias against the boroughs involvement in and contributions to the culture of Hip-Hop.

    yeah basically this. The hottest mainstream rapper out of this area right now is Cardi. That list is nice and all, but none of that is on the radio

    Were Nas and Mobb Deep getting heavy radio play back in the 90's? Besides I dont think radio play is much of a metric for success these days. these guys are building loyal followings and rack up a decent amount streams and youtube views.

    shook one's, h--- on earth were big radio plays. Nas was absolutely all over Hot 97 back in the 90s. I would agree nowadays that it's definitely not a metric for success, but usually these artists would have 1 or 2 radio friendly singles. I would love to see a NY comeback
