Lyricism and approach to lyricism is becoming for abstract..:there's less straightforward rapping. Look at Kendrick, a great lyricist but often pauses and changes flow and voice throughout a verse dramatically for no reason. Makes his message and topic hard to follow in some cases.

And that's just him, he's closer to a traditional rapper than a lot of other new people.

there a reason why you're so aggressive Tone? New Hopsin track got u in a tizzy?

The message being hard to follow doesn't mean the message isn't there. Again you aren't making sense. The fact that you're trying to push this narrative that I'm a hopsin fan and insulting my intelligence is evidence that you're the only one who's in their feelings. There is no aggression on my part it's simply debating

Is that not what I'm saying?? That the message is sometimes harder to follow now. When did I say the message isn't there?

Lmao you just described what I'm saying

Losing meaning connotes it's ceasing to exist. But put that to the side not only that but it makes no sense that being abstract musically causes music to lose meaning

Yes it does. The main definition of lose is ceasing to have or retain

Like I said your theory that hip hop becoming more complex makes the genre lose meaning and impacts the genre negatively makes no sense. You still haven't said anything that makes sense regarding this you're just resorting to personal attacks and talking in circles
Evidence that you're being a little too sensitive and need to learn how to not internalize everything

So if something loses meaning, it's still there? It doesn't go anywhere? I'm not understanding these semantics

I don't think its' possible to say 'rap is complex'. Its grown and expanded and evolved and diversified just from the natural process of evolution. And the internet has opened up new lanes, new styles that sometime merge and shift and evolve off as strands of their own. So sure, some forms of rap have become incredibly complex, some have become incredibly simple. But its' all over the place. its like a living organism.

Tony is explaining the physical and metaphorical meaning of losing something and how it relates to ceasing to exist now

And he's plainly wrong about it too

Of course when someone says music is losing its meaning they don't mean someday there will be absolutely meaning. That's just common sense and knowing what people could possibly mean. Music goes through eras and could never mean nothing Lool
