Jul 25, 2017 It has Dre's best production, Em delving deep into a serial killer's psyche and still retaining some of the Slim Shady humor, the accents are s-----y ngl but it's one of my favorite Em albums
Jul 25, 2017 The subject matter and accents killed it. Had he used the same beats & hooks and replaced the content lyrics with something more meaningful, it would be borderline classic. It felt like he struck out with bases loaded on this one and it disappoints me.
Jul 25, 2017 The best of a relapse 1 , bonus tracks, and relapse 2 likely would have yielded a classoc imo. It's like a 6/10 for me, despite the amazing production. Voice doesn't bother me, or the horrorcore but the attempt to use his same shitck for a single going at pop stars and a few dud songs bring it down for me. Like the whole dad f---ing him in the shed stuff, isn't clever, funny or shocking, it's gross. Insane We made you Must be the ganja Crack a bottle All above not good - rest are 7 and up.
Jul 25, 2017 Nah man. Great f---ing album. Not a classic due to some p---- a--- choices by Em, but like 85% solid as f---, and unique... and most importantly - enjoyable as f---. And that comment, I believe personally, is just Em in that time period being a further p---- and being very fraught and worried that he was out of touch and about to fall off the mainstream radar big time if he released R2, and so that's why I think he came back with that big of a statement when he saw fans & critics were like 'ehh...'.
Jul 25, 2017 I always thought there may have been some level of truth to that stepdad thing, just because he goes to rehab and intense therapy and comes out and decides to write a song like that. I don't think he's ever said anything like that before? And he also specifically used his mum's name in the story. No accent either. That "if you knew the skeletons in my closet" line makes me think also... I obviously don't think it happened the way he said it did in the song, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's based on a true story and he decided to make a joke out of it. It's just written way differently than his fictional s---.
Jul 25, 2017 Well Em likes to bend slight truths, so for all we know, some s--- like that could have gone down. He did have a f----- up childhood
Jul 25, 2017 I think it's great for what it is. The one thing I'll say is that it wasn't the last time we heard the classic Em style on a song. The Reunion, Brainless, and So Much Better (IMO) were the last times we got that classic Em style.
Jul 25, 2017 Arguably his best album since his comeback. Much better than Recovery and arguably better than MMLP2(I really liked that album) Relapse would've challenged TES without the s-----y accents and some bad songs imo.
Jul 25, 2017 best production, flow and rhyming in em's career. medicine ball arguably better than half the tracks on recovery.
Jul 25, 2017 by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar his worse CD, i gave it a listen this week, awful awful album legit 4/10
Jul 25, 2017 love it minus a couple embarassing songs. the production, the way he sounded, the hooks -- album is by far the most listenable he's been post-falloff for me. Hello, My Mom, Crack A Bottle, Same Song & Dance, Deja Vu, Beautiful minus the hook, even Stay Wide Awake. my ears like it, way better than the druggy wigger s--- he put out an album before, way better than the radio disney arena rock he's been puttin out since.
