Nov 15, 2016 Think about it the man essentially invented autotune so without him 808s wouldn't exist. Also when you take into account to the bangers on bangers this man has its hard to not at least question it.
Nov 15, 2016 Graduation Day and Hey Mama. Kanye already knew about and how he was going to use autotune before T-Pain stepped in. Anyways, yeah I'd say he's kinda underrated, not that much or most OAT though. he's a talented singer, and wish more artists would put him to use. Though, he had his time where everything was going for him, and at that time, he really was on top, at a peak many won't ever reach. I feel the same about both T-Pain, Ne-Yo and Akon, who all were on top of the game in their eras, and are now both at a point where they lack relevance musically. I wish they'd be used more, like Chano got T-Pain on Colouring Book, but I honestly don't need them to. It's probably just because I feel nostalgic when hearing their names, and wish they'd come back. Like hoping an old TV-show will return. They're good though, especially Akon, he's stacked for f---ing life. And if they ever become relevant in the music scene again, good for them and I will certainly be happy for them. but I don't necesarily think they're very underrated though. (ik you brought up just t-pain, but imo it's the same for all of these). people are aware of their talents, but they didn't manage to change with the evolving hip hop scene. It happens with many great artists. they certainly won't be disrepected though, the nostalgic feelings tied with artist such as these are insane.
Nov 19, 2016 I had a strong dislike for him when he first came out but I'm glad I didn't hang on to that. I remember being absolutely mesmerized the first time I heard can't believe it and saw that video haha. Still one of my favorite videos ever. T pain is goat
Nov 19, 2016 I think he's underrated in the sense that many know him for his hooks and other features but not his albums/solos Which are all great btw
