Feb 4, 2015 I'm watching this ep with 1 beer and 3 shots of vodka in me so I may be a little biased. But I'm loving everything about this episode. Charlie being smart and responsible is so great. The nail in the stool. Frank's painted on shoes and him flushing things down the toilet. And Charlie's knowledge of their meat/chicken scheme, so funny. & I'm only at the first commerical break. Edit: finished the ep. Best of the season.

Feb 5, 2015 Yeah I notided that too haha, but I wanted to emphasize the one take shtick in my review rather than point out the sneaky ways they got around making it a real single take Also lmao @ this episode being ur namesake, Idk why I didn't mention you earlier I get what you're saying for watching the show for what it once was, but I still feel like they're firing on all cylinders. Maybe the ten years it's taken to get here has led to the fans outgrowing the show, even tho it's still not really dipping in quality
Feb 5, 2015 Lol, yeah I outgrew a show I still regularly watch earlier episodes of. Nah, this show's past 2 seasons have been hit or miss. Calling tonight's episode a classic because of trendy camera work really disgraces the early genius of it. This episode didn't hold a candle to CharDee McDennis or The North Korea Situation or any of my personal favorites. Mainly because the characters are relying on past mythology rather than developing it any further. We get it. Dennis has implicit sociopathic behavior. It's funny when it's peppered in. We get it, Dee is a dumb b----. It's funny when there's balance. Feels like they're just rehashing stuff. They are caricatures of caricatures at this point.
Feb 5, 2015 Funny, becuase my review actually expresses the exact opposite sentiment. That they should be re hashing re hashes at this point, but are still churning out countless enjoyable scenarios. I fee like the characters have always been characitures. Unlike other shows that create characitures by jumping the shark, always sunny was a world of caricatures from the start I think it's the high volume of episodes at this point more than anything. Although you are right, the top 5-10 episodes of the series are defintely comprised of earlier episodes. There has been dips in quality here and there but no where near enough for me to stop watching the show
Feb 5, 2015 Always Sunny is a bit crude for older audiences so it misses out on getting credit, but I'd say the cast is up there with Friends and Seinfield in terms of likable characters. Great show.
Feb 5, 2015 I didn't read your knee jerk review lol. I agree that they were caricatures of s-----y people, but now they're caricatures of that even. The characters have been boiled down to their one dimensional dynamics and they aren't even balanced well enough to distract me from that. I'm not going to tell you what to like but it's pretty clear the show is different now and not in a good way. It's like fan fiction compared to the good old days. The joke is never as funny as the premise anymore. I haven't watched episode 2 yet, but I've heard it's the best yet. I liked 3-4 episodes a lot last season. Wouldn't be surprised if this was the same.
